Ok, after much delay, I've updated my Arcane Legionary class. Thanks to the folks at Paizo for letting me play in their playground, and for the bard variants to give me a better 'scale' for my take on stabacabera.

Critiques always welcome, just please be civil.

Edit, already had one error spotted.

I'll work an enemy legionary into my SCAP game as soon as possible and get you some playtesting.

I would like to make a suggestion for a slight change and that would be to move arcane bond to level 1.

My reasons are simple i dislike the idea that after 3 levels of being a full spell caster to suddenly find it difficult to cast without a specific object seems strange to me ( I dislike the arcane duelist bard for the same reason :)).

Other than that i quite like it although the magus they are currently playtesting will cover a similar role soon it seems

Well the bond is optional. I figured level 5 would be a good point to make the 'career choice' as it were.

The magus is a memorization caster, while my legionary is a spont caster, it's more akin to a psychic warrior (couple of the spells are 'ports' of psychic warrior powers to boot).

TOZ, I'd love to hear experiences with it. I've played on, but then having built the class I 'know how to play it right' as it were. So I don't have the most unbiased opinion ;-)

Revision I realized I was missing the text for bonus feats.

(Which is why editors are our friends)

Big point to be made. It NEEDS to be stated that not only is this a spontaneous caster, but what their stat for casting is. I know that it seems obvious, but I have learned from expierance that you should never take such things for granted.

Blue Hermit needs editor, badly.

The legionary is an intelligence based spontaneous caster. Adding in next revision.

Ok, going to post another revision tomorrow. I've thought on names, fetichbrand or fetichmagian.

I like the sound of Damascarran [DAM-a-scarr-an] (plural Damascarri) It doesn't mean anything but has a connection to the 'magic' of Damascus steel in the real world. 3.x had it's share of made up words: " Arcanamach" anyone?

Arcanamach is one of my favorite words ever. Even though it's, ya know, not a word. Man, I loved that class.

Just wanted to say that. I will look this class over when my schedule calms down, as stabracadabra is my fave.

Edit: Took a quick glance. Love the format. You need some serious proofreading in your first fluff section, but that's as far as I got. Not intended as an insult, but some of the sentences don't make sense, there are typos, pronoun confusion, etc. (Ignore my own lack of grammar skills...I don't realllly try on the boards : ) Also, add fluff for why they tend to lawful alignments.

I like that you are basically doing a 20 level Suel Arcanamach/Duskblade mash up. Suel Arcanamach was an awesome class for many reasons, but didn't see enough play. Good saves, decent BAB, decent HD, decent skills, lots of feat support, casting in armor, casting while TWF or with shields and good class abilities may be over the top power wise compared to other classes. I would have to really look deeper than I have time to right now to evaluate that, though. Just a worry right of the bat.

Again, awesomely pleasing format. Arcane Legionarre might be a cool name that's basically the same but with some more flair.

And as promised... revision 3

There are also a total of seven spells published with it now. Still calling the class 'Arcane Legionary but damascarran and magian both are sounding good.
