Just bought HeroLab which allows apparently strange things for Summoners, please tell me if any of these are legal:

1. Can you modify Eidolon base stats to redistribute points (HeroLab allows this)?

2. The start HP of companions/eidolons is settable - does that mean maxing them is a 'house rule' and in violation of PFS rules? Or is it a GM call? I foung the Eidolon's 7hp a serious drawback as he died the first encounter and never benefits from party heals and was wondering if some GMs would approve a starting max hp.

As a user of herolab I know it can do some funky stuff sometimes.

1. No you cannot.

2. Maxxing it is not necessarily a house rule.Only PC's start at max hp at lvl 1. Not sure if it violates PFS or not as that is not my thing. It could defiantly be a GM's call.

1) No you can not.
2) Maxing HP would be violation of PFS rules.

Of note, most Eidolons start with 6 HP as your round fractions down in pathfinder. However it should benefit from most party healing mechanics.

I am a firm believer that the GM can should modify the game as he sees fit. Adjusting HP or Base stats should fall within that domain. However I don't think the summoner is a weak class at all an personally as a GM I would be very hesitant to buff it.

Lone Wolf Development

There are house rules everywhere in RPGs. Hero Lab strives to be a useful tool for everyone, regardless of the house rules they employ. As such, Hero Lab makes it possible to break the official rules in order to accommodate a myriad of house rules. In most cases, Hero Lab will flag a validation error when you break an official rule, but that's not always the case.

Just because Hero Lab allows something doesn't necessarily mean that it's an *official* rule that you can do it. It could be allowed solely for those groups that have their own variations and still want to utilize Hero Lab for their game.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
