Ive been toying with the idea since 3.0, but i now have the group and the time to devote to implimenting my ideas, but i want to see if it is a feasable idea. I am drawing my inspiration from some of the books that i have read for the past 15 years.
The Will and the Word, from david eddings series' The belgariad and the Mallorean. Basically, the "Sorcerer" (Title used in series) concentrates on what he wishes to have happen, and speaking the Word, his Will manifests itself for the desired effect. The sorcerer draws power from the world and creatures around him, thus enhancing his abilities and giving him the power to make his will manifest.
Endowments, from David Farlands The Runelords. To sum it up, a person willingly gives up a trait to their lord, be it stamina, brawn, dexterity, intelligence, wit, beauty, and so on. This increases the lords abilities and makes him/her more powerful.
Rune Magic, from Weis and Hickmans' Death Gate Cycle. The premise of this Runic magic is based on possibility. a good example is this, you are caught in the woods facing off against a stronger fighter. a quick and easy rune to pull off would be the possibility of a bird flying over head and droping a present onto the fighters face, thus blinding him. Or, something harder to pull off, would be having the large oak tree that stands behind him to suddenly be uprooted and fall onto the fighter. Depending on the possibility of what you are trying to achieve dictates how long and how difficult the rune setup will be. the bird dropping could be three runes, whereas the tree falling could be 20+ runes.
i ask for this help because of where my campaign is going, and you can read it here if you need to have more detail before giving advice
