Any update on the Mac version of this product? I browsed the site today and didn't see any mention of it. I saw posts from Oct of last year that a Mac beta would be available soon.

I would like to check out this software, but I run Macs at home.

I am also going to check out a few of the spreadsheet solutions. Some of them appear to be pretty good now.

Like Rob mentioned, Hero Lab is currently the only official character management software for both Pathfinder and the Pathfinder Society.
I need something MAC compatible.

Lone Wolf is working on a Mac OS X version of their application. I'm pretty sure that it will require an Intel Mac but keep abreast of things in the next few months.

I used the 4E character builder for a while, but I will not get caught in a situation again where I do not completely own the software. So if my computer needs to be re-installed, or the software doesn't work for some reason, then I may re-install at any time as long as I have a copy. That way if the company goes out of business, they change their software availability (download) or how you may use it, then I won't be caught off guard.

I am currently looking at the spreadsheets, web sites, and various free content, to support playing Pathfinder.

Than you'll never use practically any software again. YOU DON'T OWN more than likely any of the software you use. What you purchase is a license, which can be revoked at any time.

I have been searching endlessly for a charGen for PFS with no luck. Though there are many good ones out there, they all lack the same thing (the only thing I'm looking for), Synthesist. I have a Synth I made for my new group, but I have yet to find a CharGen that has a good Synth option. Make that happen and you'll have my business.

Gawd, what a way to kill a thread with DRM bickering. Please just stop.

I couldn't wade through every post to find an answer, but I just built and printed my first Hero Lab character. What an awful print layout. What a let down after the generally positive experience of adding a complex triple-class character.

Is there a tool that accepts Hero Builder as an input (standard format export, XML, API, etc) and does a decent job with the output? Is there a way for a report generating tool (Cognos, ODBC, etc) to reach inside of Hero Builder and grab the data it needs to do a decent print out?

Basically, is there any way to get under the covers of Hero Lab to create a third-party formatting tool?

In Hero Lab, click the view updates option at the top right. At the bottom right of that list, change the "Show All Updates" filter to "Show Custom Output Types", and that will give you a list of the custom character sheets that have been created by our users.

For information on creating your own, in the Help menu, choose "Hero Lab Manual", and then click the "Custom Output" link.
