One of my players has left and looking at his other posts, he has stopped due to declining health reasons.
The AP is Curse of the Crimson Throne. Pick up the PDF if you need inspiration.
Starting level 2nd
Cash for 2nd level
20 point buy
2 traits
Races: All core + Tiefling
Classes: All Core and APG classes accepted (Including alternate class features from APG).
I'm going to give this a little while until the current combat the group is involved in is finished before bringing in this new character. I will do my judgement based on backstory. If you wish to tailor your character to what classes we have already (I know many like me do) here is what the group consists of:
Aventi D'Gaudon (Male Human Monk of Ivory)
Tapestry (Female Tiefling Cleric of Calistra)
Krenn Whetstone (Male Dwarf Ranger/Fighter)
Curnach Daveck (Male Human Urban Druid)
Background will be moastly free roam since the main man, Gaedren Lamm is dead and the character will need to be inspired to help. At the moment Korvosa is in a uproar after the death of their beloved king and accusations being spread through the city of the Queen being responsible. The guard have been spread thin through out the entire city to try and calm down the citizens and keep Queen Ilosia's city from tearing itself apart in chaos. Being a large and popular city there will be many traders coming in, people to hire out their swords to others, large wizard's tower in the city. Many, many reasons why your character may wish to enter this place.

Hi Aron.
I would like to submit Andrezi Zeldana for inclusion into your game. He is a Varisian Human Bard heading towards Harrower (long term plan, I know) that I made for another CotCT game that has since passed on.
Andrezi is a handsome, immaculately groomed man of obvious Varisian heritage, with dark hair and eyes, and well tanned skin. He is fond of dressing in black and red with quite a few gold accents.
Andrezi always seems to have a grin on his face that leads people to believe he is up to something (usually he is). He is quite fond of good food and drink, and the company of a lovely young woman. Andrezi rarely passes up the opportunity to play a few rounds of Towers, and is not above taking a few liberties with rules to help out his odds.
Andrezi grew up as part of a Varisian caravan. He learned to use the Harrow from his mother, who was the caravans mystic. He learned a few of his less reputable skills from his brothers and uncles.
Andrezi and a girl named Mikayla had fallen deeply in love. Mikayla was the caravan leader’s daughter, and she was promised to the son of a rival caravan’s leader. Mikayla and Andrezi kept their affair a secret for as long as they could, but they were eventually discovered. The caravan leader was furious and wanted Andrezi dead for his “trechery”.
Mikayla saved Andrezi’s life, but at the cost of her relationship with Andrezi and Andrezi’s heart. Mikayla had relented to marry the man to whom she was promised, and Andrezi was banished from the caravan. Andrezi packed his few belongings, including his most prized possession, a Harrow deck created by his mother, and left the caravan.
Andrezi settled in the Midland district of Korvosa, near Eodred’s Square, making a living by gambling, telling fortunes, and running a few con-games.

Jerinthian Kos aka "Jerin" submitted for your review. I haven't fleshed out the stats as I assumed you wanted to see a character concept first. I can put togther the character in a short period if he is accepted.
Jerinthian Kos
Jerin had been at the Acadamae in Korvosa for what seemed like an eternity. His father’s promise of a wonderful school in the city to hone his innate arcane skills had not turned out the way he expected it too.
As soon as he arrived at the Acadamae he knew he wasn’t going to fit in. Most of his classmates were on the darker side, he remarked to himself on many occasions. The greater wizards seemed to lust after the power promised to them by the Devils he had seen some of them bind. The younger students aspired to be what they saw to be the great power at their finger tips in this magic. Jerin had been brought up as a simple merchants son, his father was successful, but was sure to keep Jerin grounded. He had been taught that hard, honest work would bring you what you needed.
He survived the taunting, the threats, and the disappointment from his teachers. All of the star students of the Acadamae were Summoners, or Wizards who specialize in summoning. He just could never connect with the creatures that the Acadamae taught, at least not to the strength that many of his “school-mates” did. Secretly, Jerin started to look through some of the arcane tomes that were in the library. After a long time as an unsuccessful student, he found that he had plenty of time on his hands. He had no friends and the teachers didn't really care if he showed up to class as long as his father was still paying.
So he dedicated himself to study the arcane tome he had found, one that unlocked the key to Enchantments at the expense of Necromantic and Transmutation magic. In secret, he studied until he could no longer hide behind his failures. He found that he easily mastered the basic forms of the magic contained within the tome. When he was finally discovered and kicked out of the Acadamae Jerin wasn’t sure what to do. He didn’t want to go back to his father a failure but didn’t know what else to do.
It was just after this time that all hell broke loose in Korvosa. The king had died! Riots, burning, looting had broken out. By chance Jerin happened upon some Korvosan Guardsmen in dire need of help against an angry mob. He couldn’t stand by while they were overrun so he stepped in and with several spells was able to help the Guardsmen gain control of the mob. That day he met the powerful leader of the Korvosan guard, Cressida Kroft who offered him a job. With few other options he accepted and wondered what his role might be in these uneasy times.
Personality
Jerin is easy going and wants to help. He likes "adventure" but has never really been exposed to it since he is a bit of a book worm. He speaks up when he sees that something is wrong and will usually act against it. I see him as a Neutral to Neutral Good type of character.
Traits
Reactionary – due to the abuse at the Acadamae, Jerin is used to looking over his shoulder and reacts a little quicker than his peers.
Magical Lineage – his mother was a talented spell caster before her death, even though she never gained real power, he often saw her use a very useful spell, shield, for very long periods of time. It was the first spell he learned and is able to apply metamagic feats to this spell as if it is 1 level lower.
BTW if you are not a fan of enchantments I can easily switch the school focus. Also we can change his tie-in if you don't like what I made up, just helping you think of ways to work him in.

Byron Radanavich |

I would like to submit Byron Radanavich for consideration, a Half-Elven (Varisian) Rogue/Wizard who will eventually (probably) be going for Arcane Trickster.
I will update the 'crunch' on his page soon, but for the moment, here is his story information:
Byron is a tall (6'1") Half-Elven male with swarthy skin, brown hair and striking purple eyes. He typically dresses in sombre traveller's gear, but wears an array of colourful Varisian scarves, and always has a silver holy symbol of Desna around his neck. His favoured weapon is rarely far from his side: A Silversheen greatsword that has a large, cunningly cut chunk of rose quartz embedded in the hilt.
Byron also dabbles in Harrow, and usually has his favourite deck somewhere about his person.
Byron Radanavich is a mixed-blooded Varisian, son of some travelling gypsies. His first few years of life were relatively carefree; a life on the road, new sights and sounds every day, and travelling community that was really an extended family. However, all that came to an end one night when the caravan was visiting Korvosa's Thief Camp with the intention of re-supplying, and perhaps turning a quick profit. All he really remembers, besides the snarls and screams, is being hurriedly rushed away from the only family he had ever known, and thrown into the Jeggare River by his father, who was then torn apart by strange creatures with glowing-red eyes.
Byron washed-up on the island of Old Korvosa, and for the next few years, struggled to survive; begging, stealing, doing the occasional odd-job, and trying to avoid the cities predators, both the day and night varieties...
The only real relief he had was watching the antics of the city's pseudodragons; the tiny, winged creatures embodied a carefree freedom that was sorely lacking in his own life. Over time, he was able to befriend some of them, and life became a little more bearable.
As he grew older, he was attracted to the church of Desna; living life to the fullest, and enjoying the journey, rather than focusing on a particular destination, embodied a sense of freedom that appealed to a young man who had been cast adrift in life and had had to make his own way in the world.
At about the same time, he developed an interest in finding-out more about his Varisian heritage, and started becoming involved in the local Varisian communities - working as an information broker and general 'facilitator' for issues that involved the community. He was quite interested to discover that they were still sporadically being tormented by gruesome murders and disappearances, but that no-one was interested in helping them with their problems...
After doing a fair amount of digging, he was able to track down the culprit: A ghoul-obsessed cult of Urgathoa, which was preying on the less-fortunate members of society to fuel its wild, hedonistic orgies. Leading a band of local Varisian toughs to the cult's feast-hall like headquarters, he was able to put an end to it, exterminating the cult's ghoul servitors, and staking-out the cult's high-priest, a depraved ghast-cleric of Urgathoa.
This act garnered him a certain amount of notoriety and respect amongst the Varisians, and brought him to the attention of the Korvosan Guard, which eventually seconded him to deal with 'local' matters that the Guard either could not deal with, or could not be seen to deal with.
For now, Byron is happy: He has a new extended family both draconic and human, and while the destination of his life's journey is unclear, he plans to enjoy the trip.
Byron is generally quite softly spoken, keeping a careful eye on what goes on around him, and gently 'nudging' events in the direction he wishes them to go. However, on any issues that affect the city's Varisian population (and by extension, the rest of the lower classes), he is quite passionate and outspoken in his desire to make sure that they receive the best deal possible.

Genesys |

Here's my take - hope I get to play this really cool concept.
Name: Franz Kreiter
Class: Cavalier, Order of the Sword.
Race: Chelaxian Human
Alignment: Lawful Evil (Can change to neutral, if it's a problem.)
Born to a pure-blooded Chelish family and a silver spoon in mouth, Franz had a life of envy. With all of his birthright, he held great pride for the glory of his empire, his city, and his family, and while this is surely common in most Chelish towns, he upheld it firmly.
Through his youth, he showed much interest in the military of the great city, and sought out what he could to impress his father - who had been a Hellknight at the prime of his life. Through what he could garner, in order to truly be a better than his father, he searched with fervor a way to join that prestigious order - when he came along something different.
He joined the Order of the Sword in his mid-teens, and trained long and hard for his position. Still yet a squire, he obeyed the laws of 'chivalry' and so forth, but only when it best seemed to suit him. This garnered much distance from his peers, but when it came down to it, they could not refuse what he brought. However, he recieved a message from his family, and returned with most haste - finding that the city of Korvosa he had known, had drastically changed. (Just a start - can fix and tidy up later.)

Wencis |

Throwing this out there....
Wencis "I know Magic!"
Human Magus (i know it's only gone through playtest but seems fun)
Wenics is a swordsman who gets into trouble, often. Most of the time it's his fault, but he usually doesn't see it that way. The little voice inside his head that is supposed to say "this is not a good idea" is on permanent vacation. His life is hectic and chaotic and he's very curious, thinks he's more charming than he is, and oh yeah He Knows Magic!
will add more info to his profile as it developes

Aelbourne Uthemar
Elven Wizard (conjurer)/Rogue
Once a proud student at the Acadamae, Aelbourne was framed for a murder he didn't commit. Once out on the streets Aelbourne began searching the cities underworld for the man who had framed him, Gaedren Lamm, in hopes of bringing the crimelord to justice and clearing his name. Now with Lamm dead Aelbourne must continue his search for any shred of evidence that will finally restore his tarnished honor.

Heavy Harry |

..."Now, friend, will I be making my point, or will you be making your payment?"
..."Uhuh, I get it, you ain't got the gold, but Innkeeper Davern ain't got no patience neither, so this ain't gonna be a good day fer ya"
..."Hold still! hold still! if you keep wriggling like that I might get BOTH kneecaps!"
..."so then he says to me, 'I'd like to see you try Orcmeat'; anyhow, once I pulled him back out of the river..."
I think thats all you need to know about 'Arry. Any extra's gonna cost ya a pretty paperweight of gold.
/ooc This isn't a 'Face' for the party. He's a handy guy for a scrap who may bring some (darkish) comic relief, and a few skills, a shady background, and simple enough to integrate... possibly with the Dwarf or Urban Druid?
Loose stats in profile.

Assuming I am still in time I would like to submit
Human Sorcerer 2 Fey Bloodline
Neutral Good
Orlando was two when his parents emmigrated from Cheliax. When he was eleven they were killed by red mantis assassins. Orlando never found out why. Noone ever knew why they were targetted although it is well known that the red mantis never makes mistakes. His father was a cloth merchant. His mother a singer, a soprano with a voice so pure and true that some swore it was an enchantment. They were simple people and their loss hit Orlando hard.
He went to live with less wealthy relatives in Old Korvosa. Filled with an anger he could neither adequately express or discharge he begain to run with the local children, groups of chels playing out running battles with the varisians, the fights of their parents in minature.
Always an affable and likeable boy, his powers manifested with puberty. He found that with his "knack" he could hum or sing songs that could affect the people around him, even influence and control them if he concentrated hard enough. He used this with little thought to the consequences, forging a little band with himself as the titular king. Unfortunately, he was sufficiently succesful that he brought the attention of underworld power groups. The corpses of two friends later, his group was shattered and he was forced to reap the bitter fruit of his actions.
He ran the streets no more but the events provided a focus for his anger, the criminals of Korvosa. Leeches sucking the lifeblood of honest people like his cousins. Criminals like the people who took his parents away. This time he took a different approach, a smarter approach. This time he used his knack to gather information instead of followers and this he passed on to the guard. He became so successful at this that he soon came to the attention of the higher echelons of the guard and eventually Cressida Kroft. It was a small step from information gatherer to agent although this is known to very few.
Now twenty, Orlando has managed to develop his "knack" into a formidable magical talent. He casts his spells by singing or humming different tunes depending on the spell (this is functionally identical to incanting spells as normal). In his public personae he is well known among the people of the city as a "finder" of lost things and especially people. However he can't bear to take money from people who can't afford it (that of course being the majority of his clients). Accordingly, financially at least he has little success as a detective. The majority of his income either comes secretly from the guard or from selling information to other sources. He is used on occassion by the groups whose downfall he seeks. He is careful in those instances to reveal no part of his true intent.
Physically Orlando is non-descript although that is partly intentional. He is of slight build a clue to his distant heritage although he has no idea as to the source of his power. His most distinguishing feature is a brillant smile which we uses to good effect in his work. He normally dresses in slightly shabby clothing although he has a different range of outfits for different purposes.
While outwardly cynical Orlando is a patriot and deeply protective of Korvosa and its citizens. The recent shocking events in Korvosa have made him want to take on a more active role. He will have made contact with Cressida and asked what he can do.

Taken me some time and there have been a lot of good choices of classes and loved the different backstories.
My choice will have to be Terok with the character: Jerinthian Kos. Thank you all for your interested and sorry you didn't make it.
Terok, introduce yourself on the OOC and we can come up with any changes to the backstory if there are any. Main thing we will have to change is meeting with the marshall.
