I am playing a 1st level Alchemist in a campaign where we have taken ownership of a gambling hall. It looks like we are going to be there for some time. I would like to make and store a collection of extracts. In the book it says that once the extract leaves the possession of the alchemist it becomes inert. Then it reactivates as soon as it returns to the alchemists possession. It then says that after a day the extract becomes inert.
If the extract is already inert can it become inert again after a day? Would I be able to store up extracts and then activate them as needed giving me the chance to have more than 2 extracts a day?

It should be clear that if extracts could be stored for more than 24h without restriction the game whould become totaly unbalnced.
DM: After a few mounths have past ....
Alchemist (level 1 with Infusion): STOP, cool i make 10 cure light wounds extracts, 10 true strike extracts and 10 Enlarge Person extracts for every party member
DM: What???
So there are only two possiblities a sane DM can rule this:
1. All extracts become inert after 24h under all curcumstnaces
2. As soon as you create new extracts for the extract slot existing extracts become inert
I as a DM would go with the secound ruling because that works much better with discoveries like:
Infusion: When the alchemist creates an extract, he can infuse it with an extra bit of his own magical power. The extract created now persists even after the alchemist sets it down. As long as the extract exists, it continues to occupy one of the alchemist’s daily extract slots. An infused extract can be imbibed by a non-alchemist to gain its effects.
