13 Venture-Captains Help Bring Pathfinder to the World
Paizo Publishing announced today that 13 Regional Coordinators from around the globe have been brought on board to help coordinate Pathfinder Society events. Regional Coordinators, known as Venture-Captains, will oversee specific locations and serve as local organizers and points of contact for members of the Pathfinder Society, the organized play arm for the award-winning Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
“Venture-Captains are a vital component in our Organized Play structure,” said Hyrum Savage, Marketing and Organized Play Manager for Paizo Publishing. “With this new structure it will be easier than ever for players to find local games and get playing right away. We’ve named 13 individuals now, but have plans for many more in the coming months.”
Each of the Venture-Captains will be the local focus for the Pathfinder Society, helping coordinate games, find local game masters, help local retail stores set up Pathfinder Society events, and get people excited about Pathfinder and other Paizo products. If you are a player or retail store manager that is interested in the Pathfinder Society, please email the Venture-Captain closest to your area for more information and instructions on how you can join. If your local area is not currently represented by a Venture-Captain please email Paizo at pathfindersociety@paizo.com.

Set in the popular Pathfinder campaign setting of Golarion (home of the blockbuster monthly Pathfinder Adventure Path series), Pathfinder Society Organized Play follows the exploits of the setting’s most notorious group of treasure hunters, vagabond scholars, and thrill-seeking adventurers: the Pathfinder Society. With nearly 30 scenarios released annually, Pathfinder Society gives players ample opportunity to roll dice, create characters, vanquish monsters, and accumulate treasure. So there are two regional coordinators in California and they are both south of the Grapevine? How does that make sense?
Dennis da Ogre says, "It's kind of weird that you quote yourself"
Hey Ogre,
Being a SoCal native myself, Los Angeles and San Diego are both large enough and far enough apart to warrant the need for their own Venture-Captains.

Oh Captain! My Captain!
Congrats to all the VC's! Now get out there an recruit more minions!
*strikes down Kyle* First step, don't let the new minions get out of line. Set the bar high by slaying one of the old and venerable to showcase one's power and superiority. Kyle's antics are an easy enough loss.

Hyrum,
I have no doubt that LA and San Diego deserve their own coordinators, I just think it's odd that you have two in Socal and none in the Bay Area/ Norcal.
I understand this to be a matter of timing rather than oversight. Historically, there has been a need for LA and SD to have separate representatives within organized play. The fact that two CA reps have been named does not mean that no NoCal reps wil be named.
Congrats to Robyn and Eric!

Congratulations to everyone who was made a venture captain.
Will more be added? I left Raleigh on the 1st of September to return home to Vermont. From what I remember there was quite a large group of players, which met at the store Game theory. I remember there were usually two full tables of one DM and six players on Monday evenings, and I think in the neighborhood of 5 to 6 tables on Thursdays. This was twice a week. There was (and I hope still is) a great group of players. I had lots of fun the six months I was there. I miss the gang down there. Anyways.
The organizer there, Millerhero, ( I think that is his screen name) did an excellent job organizing the game nights, GMing, playing etc. If I was playing, I would sign up for the Monday night and Thursday night games, and with his spread sheet, Millerhero, kept things organized so people would play modules they hadn’t played before. When I GMed, he would let me know several days to a week before hand which module to run so I had time to prepare. I think things were very smoothly run. He even had plastic sharks to lend out for the Sniper in the Deep scenario. Just as I was leaving he put together a "year of the shadow lodge" event with cake. The store was full. We had lots of fun.
I hope he fits into the "plans for many more". Ok there is my shameless plug for someone who became a good friend while I was down in North Carolina.
Again congratulations to everyone else, and I hope the list of coordinators keeps growing

Hyrum a question,
when Josh originally asked for coordinators he was looking for one in Austin Texas, I was originally thinking about applying for it but decided just to grow the San Antonio location to hopefully be able to get it large enough for consideration of a regional coordinator. In your opinion, are Austin and San Antonio close enough to warrant one regional coordinator to cover booth or should I just continue doing what I am doing and just continue to work on San Antonio. The main reason I bring this up is because I am interested in applying, and I have had players come to our game down in San Antonio from Austin.

Very well done Dave Harrison for being appointed UK Regional co-ordinator. I know you will do a brilliant job because you have been doing it so well for the last two years, unrecognised! Thanks for all your time and hard work. We'll all support you to the best of our ability.

Well done Auke. I only know you as a great player but I'm sure you will do a terrific Co-ordinator's job in your Region, too.

I already posted congratulations on the thread down on the Society forum, but some things are worth repeating, so I'll add my congratulations to Dave and to all the other Regional Coordinators appointed in the first wave up here too.

Thanks to everybody for the congratulations and I'd just like to say that although it's my name there it's only with the efforts of you guys, particularly Rob and Charles, that this has happened.
