I'm in the market for playing our primary tank/melee character but am looking for some more unique ideas other than the standard fighter, barbarian or paladin.
I had been playing a half-orc inquisitor, which was fun, but he got pasted.
I dig the feel of a lot of the newer classes and half been considering the Magus or even Summoner (niether are token tanks but both can be worked into the roll (and role) if built right.
Druid came to mind as well with shapechanging and what not.
I'm nor a huge fan of dipping into tons of classes for one character, usually preferring to progress in a base class, but I'm open to ideas.
Unique is key. For instance my Magus idea is a halfling with a falcutta. I've considered a eleven alchemist / master chymist.
I have 9 levels to work with.
Thoughts?

It may not be hitty enough, but battle herald? The fluff is really cool, IMO.

Mmm, bard/cavalier/battle herald could be good.

What stats do you have to work with it will help.
Low point buy makes it harder so you need a solid base to build from.
Orical of battle20 Combat manuver training spelized. Using revalation manuver mastery. You can buy pass the int required for Trip and other combat manuver feets.
Higher point buy it makes more stat dependent builds posible.
Human Fighter14/Paladin3/Rogue3 with a 14 int you can keap 5 skills maxed out. Acrobatics, Disable Device, Perception, Stealth, and Use Magical Device. Utilia Tank you can do sevral jobs at one time. You get evasion, paladin saves and immunitys, and fighter weapon spelization.
any race Ranger6/Rogue2/Fighter14 With ranger 6 you don't need dex for two weapon fighting. This alows you to dump dex in favor of str. you keap your evasion and rogue skills or some of them see above. You still have fighter weapon spelization.
Just a few ideas off the top of my head
