It's not clear from what i can read in the in core rulebook but what distance a spiritual weapon moves in a round?
Lets say the SW is hitting joe for 2 rounds then joe dies! On my next turn i decide to use a move action to redirect the SW towards bob. How much the SW can move to reach bob?
From what i read from the spells description. If you use a move action to move the SW or the mob dies and you use your move round to move the SW, that it can move to any spot or square in the spells range. I would go over this with your DM before hand tho, just to make sure he doesn't want to change it some and give it a movement speed.

I agree, the weapon has a speed of 100 ft. + 10 ft./level. j/k
As a move action, it just appears next to the target that you choose.
The fun part is that if your deity's favored weapon is a bow or some other ranged weapon, then it does not have to appear next to the target, It can just appear next to you and shoot (or wherever in the spells range it needs to be to get line of site), but it still can not shoot outside of the spells range.
There is also nothing stopping you from casting another one each round. So, as long as you have open spell slots, just go ahead and have a hoard of x-weapon beating on someone. Makes for some fun concentration checks for casters.. :)
Sorry that is one of my favorite divine spells.

If the target of your spiritual weapon moves away from it, does it automatically follow the target ?
I'm thinking not, as the SW has to be consciously moved by the caster (hence the move action). Although nothing would be stopping you from simply moving the weapon back to the target on your next turn.

The spell never says anything about spending a move action to move the weapon. It only says it's a move action to switch targets.

Slight mis-read. Sorry about that.
Re-reading the spell, it simply continues attacking the previously designated target. Meaning that unless your GM ruled otherwise, it seems it would, indeed, chase its target.
Each round after the first, you can use a move action to redirect the weapon to a new target. If you do not, the weapon continues to attack the previous round's target. On any round that the weapon switches targets, it gets one attack. Subsequent rounds of attacking that target allow the weapon to make multiple attacks if your base attack bonus would allow it to. Even if the spiritual weapon is a ranged weapon, use the spell's range, not the weapon's normal range increment, and switching targets still is a move action.
Emphasis mine, as it relates to the question at hand.
