Hello, I just read an article on a GM having trouble with a monk in his adventuring party.. The monk is grappling, and tripping everything, and it has begun to get annoying. I want to be able to do that with my monk..
What do I need to do, what do I need to buy? What feats do I need to get?
I'm only level one by the way, and.. I can change everything. :D

Waitaminnit. Are you really asking for advice on how to become "that guy?" Do you really want to be the guy who sucks the fun out of the game with a tactically sound and perfectly legal character build that steals all the glory from the actions of the other PCs, makes your companions superfluous and causes the DM to skip most of the combat encounters because he's tired of seeing his carefully laid out scenarios reduced to stock footage? What's wrong with you? Are you on drugs? It was those kids over on the optimization boards who gave them to you wasn't it? I warned you about those boys.
I'm really disappointed in you, son.
This isn't how your mother and I raised you.

1 word. Giant Spiders. Ok, that was 2 words, but still...encounters wit large, multi-limbed monsters will teach a grappler about how weak his build is in certain instances.
MMm, oh, and oozes and puddings too. And slimes. One big hunk of green slime.
And incorporeal ghosts. And Ghasts. Fun things to be grabbing on.
