Mutagens, Extracts, and Rage

Rules Questions

Couldn't find a similar post, but it'ss possible that my search-fu is weak, especially since I'm working off of three hours of sleep.

I was fiddling around with character ideas and thought of an Alchemist / Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist).

Basically an Alchemist who got arrested and tossed into a gladiatorial arena, becoming a Pit Fighter.

Upon earning his release or surviving the time of his sentence (3 or 4 levels of Barbarian later), he is again able to use his alchemist training.

Which brings me to the following:

Rage provides a +4 morale bonus to a barbarian's STR and CON.

A Mutagen can provide a +4 alchemical bonus to the STR, DEX, or CON ability scores for 10 minutes per alchemist level

The Bull's Strength extract and the Bear's Endurance extract provide a grants a +4 enhancement bonus to STR and a +4 enhancement bonus to CON respectively.

Now, as they all provide a different type of bonus, I'm assuming that they stack for a possible total of +12 to STR or CON.

Yes or no?

Yes.

As you stated, each bonus is of a different type, so you can do so.

Remember, Enlarge Person is also on the Alchemist formulae list and that grants a +2 size bonus to Str (among other things).

BLAST! I knew I forgot something!

Of course, that would have made him even easier to hit while raging and he probably would have died faster. But one of the players might not have survived considering when he ducked out of the fight, he only had 4HP left.

Said PC was also the only PC in hand-to-hand with him. As everyone else held back to buff or attack at range.

We have a Barbarian/Rogue/Alchemist in our Curse of the Crimson Throne group. Despite her BAB of 2 at level 4, her Strength of 31 (didn't roll a 17 or 18) when fully buffed (not counting Enlarge) is rather formidable. She broke through a door that was held in place by a solid iron chain to get into the enemy base through a back route--that's one way to be the party Rogue!

Very true. Well, until the very end. He just HAS to get in the last attack, doesn't he? LOL

That's one to Disable Device, yeah! LOL

Subtle, no. Effective, yes.

Actually, the enemies left it unguarded because of the solid iron chain on the other side preventing the door from being lifted without a DC 30 or something Strength check (requiring the Strength of an African elpehant to break down), and she did it under cover of a Silence spell (this is where we are right now in Curse), so currently no enemy has any idea we are there!

Oh man. Someone is in for a nasty surprise! LOL
