I see buried under the Ice somewhere near the road over the top of the world connecting the Realm of the Mammoth Lords and Tian Xia the ruins of two great Enpires that were expantionist and at war with each other when the world was young. Both outsiders to this world, colonists in a new land. The Abeil and their minions and the Formians. Both societies were territorial and expantionist and both were colonial. Both couldnt keep up with the casualties. So they built great machines and created Warforged to fight for them. After many years they shut down their machines and left as the ice age crept in and they couldnt live in thier great cities anymore. Now all thats left are spare parts, a few intact warforged and two great machines and some long forgotten citties of once great civilizations. What happens when these factions are awakened. Can they be tamed, communicated with. Will they fight each other or will the war be over. Will they want peace or will they be confused and not no what to do with no one giving them orders anymore. And what about the world wound not so very far away?
Ya that would be a good Idea as well :) Or perhaps they were invented by Runelords to war with each other...

Surprised nobody's mentioned the Gearmen of the Silver Mount in Numeria (northern Avistan, south of the Worldwound).

There are constructs that are in Absolom as well. I don't seem to remember where from but they sailed in on a metal ship that pulled itself onto land and then tuned itself into the clockwork cathedral.
They have been training people on the art of making constructs ever since.
I've often thought about borrowing some of the contruct rules from Kobold to make some interesting intelligent contructs.
