Weapon Bond, Throwable Teleport?

Round 1: Magus

Under the description of weapon bond a Magus can alternatively teleport to their bonded weapon once per round. Does this mean a Magus can move to close distance to an opponent, throw their weapon as an attack, and teleport to where the weapon struck as a free action? Is this an intended use of the ability? As a 19th level ability I don’t think it’s too overpowering, but I wonder if there’s room for abuse.
Thanks, Mike.

From how I read it, it should indeed be so. I have this picture where a highlevel Magus is slashing away with wild abandon, throws his sword as the target goes down with his Throw Anything feat, teleports over and delivers a touch spell where his sword is embedded, and looks awesome doing so ^^

Yeah, that was kind of how I imagined it too.

Or the magus gets in over his head, throws his sword toward the cleric, then teleports out of the middle of the fray to a safer spot and gets some healing.

Since you are limited to the range you can throw your weapon(short range, requires line of sight), it is a slightly weaker version of dimension door.

Some of the more interesting uses are to use your weapon as a tracer device. Put your sword in with a bunch of weapon being shipped to the BBEG castle, then you can teleport in and snoop around.

It is really too bad that these weapon bond abilities don't come in until level 19. They seem like a lot of fun, but almost no one is going to get to use them.
