Disruptive Spell [APG]

Rules Questions

The text of the feat says that targets "affected" by the spell have to make Concentration checks to cast for one round. Does this mean that spells which have a partial effect on a successful save still affect their targets with the disruptive effect?

Example: Ederin casts a disruptive glitterdust on an enemy wizard. The wizard makes their Will save vs. DC 20, avoiding the blinding effect, but still saddled with a -40 to Stealth, and thus "affected" by the spell. Does the enemy wizard now have to make a concentration check vs. DC 20 + spell level to cast in the following round?

In short, yes. It says that the target must be affected, not that they must fail the save. If their is a partial effect on a save, then there was still an effect.

Furking brilliant!

I have a dumb question on the Disruptive metamagic feat.

It says the concentration check is equal to the DC to save against the spell it was tied to. What if the spell does not allow a save? Magic Missile for example? I'm sure that it's intended that the DC of the concentration check would be equal to a spell of the same level Disruptive was applied to... but it doesn't say so... something else for the errata file I suppose.

Any primary spellcaster that is unable to make what amounts to a simple casting defensively DC wasn't going to make it very far anyways.

Even without the need for a save, this feat is brokenly weak.

Umm what?!?

High level, you looking at DC 37+ where combat casting does not apply. You aren't casting defensively after all. That is NOT a simple check. At level 5, your looking at a DC 22+ for 3rd level spells and 20+ for a 1st level spell...that is not a simple check either.
