Rules Questions

I'm having a bit of confusion trying to make doppelganger fighter.

If I am making a 4th level doppelganger how many d10's do I roll for hit points?

How many feats do I get? I thought I understood this, but I went to make the character and it just doesn't seem right.

Thanks for any help.

Max HP on the 1st die, then three more d10s. As a 4th level character, two feats, 1st level and 3rd level.

doppleganger has 4 racial hit dice as well dosen't it ?

Only if you want it to.

By the book (Pathfinder Core Rulebook, pg. 13) if a character's first HD is from racial Hit Die it is rolled normally. Only if the HD is from a PC Class (not an NPC class) is it maximized.

Then obviously I wasn't referring to racial HD.

Obviously.

Assuming that the character will be created with full HD, you'll roll all 8d10. First the 4d10 from racial HD, then the 4d10 from Fighter HD. The other rules concerning making monsters into PCs is on page 314 of the Bestiary, but it's a tad tricky. In the case of this character, his Character Level would be treated as 6 (3 from CR, 3 from party experience, +1 free level and a -1 CR).

You could eliminate those racial HD, but you'd be limiting the Doppleganger's racial abilities - Mimicry in particular.

Thanks for the help. I got it covered now.

Thanks again.

Forgot about that. I'd just use character level for it.
