Sorcerer "Tells"

Advice

Scarab Sages

Hey all,

Thinking about maybe rolling a sorcerer for a few games before college starts up again, and I was wondering what kind of "tells" people have had their sorcerer chars have to indicate their bloodlines.

I'm thinking for a serpentine sorcerer snake eyes and a forked tongue would be cool. For a starsoul gnome, jet black hair but with patches of bright purple, red and blue would be cool, along with the appearance of stars in his eyes. For an aberrant guy, maybe a not-quite natural set of whiskers.

So you what have you guys had?

while not intended for that specific use, the 1000 Aasimar and Tiefling traits threads would probably be great fodder for Celestial and Infernal Sorcerer appearance quirks.

Not a good idea. Eccentrics with arcane power at their fingertips should not be mishandled for fun.

I use a lot of sorcerers as NPCs and I usually like to include a tell or two. I have a reoccurring gnome with the black dragon bloodline who has black scaly protrusions on his forehead, yellow eyes, and smells acidic. described a fey bloodline sorceress as having butterfly patterns on her eye lids and a float to her step. I also remember a feline bloodline sorcerer (from 4WFG's Book of Arcane Magic) who purred when she was satisfied and tended to climb on the furniture.

As much fun as the bloodlines are mechanically, I think the best part about them is the flavour they add to a character.
