Haley is stretching believability a bit far at this point, I think

Bardic lore indeed. And fast conversion (with a -20 bonus ?).

I wonder about Malack's special diet. Is he some kind of undead (let's say a vampire) ?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but don't all lizardfolk have fangs? He could just be an albino...

I believe that he is both an albino lizardfolk AND an undead.

After all, he worships the god of Death and Destruction and never stated that either he himself or his god are Neutral. He just implied it so that Durkon could believe it and thus not automatically consider Malack as an enemy (OOTS 737).

May be he just has the same condition as Elric and needs to drink potions to stay alive. But yea I think he's a vampire necrolizard.

Hmm Malack is probably just a living, albino lizardfolk, for 2 reasons:

1: His fangs look identical to those of various other lizardfolk we've seen, notably Gannji, the one who brought Haley, Elan, V and Blackwing to the castle to begin with; and

2: Malack's speech balloons are white background, black text just like all other living humanoids, giants and magical beasts. Undead speech balloons are white text on a black background - see Xykon, ghouls, ghasts, wights, wraiths, mummies, and vampires (Haley's nightmare vision of what might have happened to Roy's corpse after the battle of Azure City)
