How would you handle the old fastball special?
I've got a high-strength fighter in our group who wants to throw our halfling barbarian into the middle of combat, and I'm not sure how to handle this. I'm considering treating it as a charge attack that lets the barbarian bypass difficult terrain and interposing characters, but I feel like it needs a little more than that. I was also considering treating the target as flat-footed (after all, I'd sure be surprised as hell if a foaming-mouthed halfling was flying at my face), increasing the damage dealt on a successful attack, or knocking the target prone.
My group isn't rules-savvy or munchkiny, they're just trying to have fun, and I want to let this work without giving them too much (I get the impression they're going to do this a lot...). Any ideas I haven't thought of yet?

you might work out a new teamwork style feat they could take...or at least have them practice it a little otherwise i would say it would be pretty ineffective just trying to do it on the fly
as for mechanics...strength check or something similiar for the thrower results in distance thrown, maybe a bonus to that check if the throwee has ranks in acrobatics (jump), attack roll to hit the square he's aiming at (probably nonproficient tho unless he has catch off guard)
and for living projectile, probably an acrobatics (maybe even fly) check to be able to attack properly, so if he fails he gets penalties and if he succeeds he gets the bonuses.
i would give him the charge ignoring all squares in between giving an additional +2 to attack and damage if he makes his acrobatics check and a -4 to attack if he fails, and he lands in an adjacent square at the end of the attack.
initiating it, i think would happen like this: halfling delays to go after fighter and fighter (starting adjacent to halfling) takes full round to pick up and throw halfling...so halfling could get a full round attack, or it could just be a charge...up to you
sorry for all that text hope it helps

If the halfling barbarian took the lesser hurling, hurling, and greater hurling I would let him throw the fighter into combat. I think the teamwork feat or throw anything might work for this situation.
