Anti-Paladins in your game (Part Deux)

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Question. Do you think allowing Anti-Paladins of the other two Evil Alignments NEED (not, allow at your discretion, but actually NEED) changes to its abilities? I say no, that the current abilities and class features NEED no changes.

Also, pose the same question to the Paladin Class if the other two Good Alignments are allowed.

Lets discuss!

I dont think a paladin or anti-paladin of various alignment would be a bad thing, but it depends on how your view paladins also. Whatever anyone decides a strict code should be followed. The deity's belief system should greatly influence it, and I would allow for personal variences so you dont have cookie cutter paladins as long as they don't directly oppose the things the deity(DM) insist must be obeyed.

Without a strict alignment restriction, the Paladin would have to really play up the Good part of his alignment, since the Lawful part would no longer be enforced. While the Anti-Paladin would play up the Evil part of his.

Also, not necessarily on topic, I don't understand why people had so much trouble with the name "Anti-Paladin". Its not like characters in the game world walk around referring to themselves or others by their actual character classes. (In some cases, yeah. So and so is a monk, etc) "Oh yeah, Sheriff Hemlock is a Fighter". Or "How're you doing? I'm a Rogue. What Class are you?".

Its more likely that in the game world Anti-Paladins would be referred to as "Black Knights" and "Evil Warlords" etc.

On a similar note, what if Anti-Paladins had LOH w/ mercys and negitive damage. "I can cure you, if youre strong enough. Either way, this will hurt severely."

Or would it be OP to let all Cruelties activate at once, like paladin mercys.
