This topic came up while we were advancing some characters the other day.
A Ranger was advancing from 1st to second level. He chose combat style: two weapon combat. The character already has "two weapon fighting" as a 1st level feat.
The question is: since he already had two weapon fighting as a feat could he then choose the 6th level class bonus feats that use "two weapon fighting" as a prerequisit for these feats? Or any next class feat tier for that matter?
This same question goes for the monks bonus feats too that don't need the prerequisits.
Another way to ask this question is: if you already have the "feat" that is on your bonus feat list, can you take the next class level bonus feat instead of selecting one on the current class bonus feat list?

No, that's why there are multiple feats to choose from at each level of weapon style.

Remember, taking the fighting style "two weapon combat" does not equate to the "two weapon fighting" feat. He could have also picked from double slice, quick draw, and improved shield bash.
But he took "two weapon fighting" so let's work with that.
At sixth level he now gets to pick another feat from the two-weapon combat fighting style feat list. Now he gets to pick from the feats remaining from the list he had at level 1 (double slice, quick draw, or improved shield bash), AND the two new additional feats of improved two weapon fighting and two weapon defense. You do not need the prerequisite feat when selecting the ranger's style bonus feat.
