Just wanted to post a Thank YOU to all of the excited fans and friends who came to the Paizo Booth during GenCon to get a picture of me or with me. You have no idea how much I enjoyed that! It made my GenCon experience this year the best it could have been! Being able to interact with fellow Paizo fans was a blast. I had hundreds of pictures taken, tons of compliments and loads of fun! I think I even signed two books--too cool! If you have pictures of me/us that you want to post, please post them here or on facebook because I certainly would love to see them! I can't tell you how many people said, "I'm sure you're getting sick of hearing this but...can I have a picture?" That was far from the truth! I loved posing for every single picture!
Hope to see you Paizo peeps at future conventions!

If you can get away with dressing like Amiri (and you sure can), then you should!
You owe it to your public!
You manage to pick up Nethys and the Witch, too.
I know The Two-Tone One is Blake, under that latex, but who is Lora?
Is she a Lord/Lady of the Boards? A staff-member? A relative?
Either way, she does a good job! And with accessorising!

Jodi, your costume was absolutely fierce! and I had a blast taking photos for you! By the way everyone, I'm Lora, I was dressed up as the witch at Gencon, I'm a long time paizo player, and lurker of the boards just haven't posted much. I GMed at Gencon last year and this year. Thanks again Jodi for all the hard work you put into your costume and for being so awesome with picture taking :)

I was hugely impressed by your Feiya costume, excellent stuff!

Great costume, Lora. I actually was able to get a picture of you later in the con. Also, I was part of the group you DM'd on Thursday morning. :)
Unfortunately, I was not able to get a picture of Jodi. :( It just didn't work out whenever I was at the Paizo booth.

I must say that It's not every day you see a Cosplayer with a homemade outfit that also looks good in it. I wish I was there and I wish I had those skills with a needle. It truly is a shame that you could not find a carpenter to make you a wooden sword to go with that costume. But all that same great job. wish I was there.

As well as making a great Feiya, Lora is an awesome GM and Paizo volunteer.
I remember her showing up at GenCon last year and stepping up for a more than full slate of tables. I still feel bad that I sent her a group for a session where she asked to be an alternate, but I still heard how much fun her group had, when she had wanted the session off.
Jodi, absolutely amazing costume!!

You, Lora, had an amazing costume and looked simply stunning in it!! Hopefully next year you and Jodi can wear them again and be joined by more iconics!

Look. I don't know you personally, so I have no ability to judge your personality or intellectual qualities. What I can tell you is that you made your costume look good. So my compliments at hanging up the "shy hat" and putting on a little bit of a human cheese-cake show for the folks at the 'con. It must take nerve to dress in a costume outside of appropriate holidays, and one that's fairly provocative takes that much more. Kudos.
On another note, SKR is one of my favorite authors for a second reason now. Most awesome lycanthrope book and most attractive girlfriend. Huh.

I'm in awe of the compliments in this thread! It was so much fun to hang out with everyone and have other iconics to share pictures with! I know that people are going to remember this and expect it next year...rightfully so because I will definitely be in costume again! :o) I have a feeling we'll have more iconics next year!

Thank you and thank you! It's a lot of fun to sit back and watch Sean get requests for pictures and signatures. I am proud that he's so good at what he does. He has people mention books from years ago that he worked on which to me is awesome! And I must say *blush* to the comment of most attractive heheh! Thanks!!! I think he had fun watching people ask for my pictures in my costume hehe! As I recall hearing him say "Yeah! That's my girlfriend!" I don't think it gets much better than that hee heeeee!
:oD
Thanks you all!

Will you be wanting more boar grease, for the hairdo?
Just give us a shout, and I rustle some up.

Awesome costume! I didn't approach you to take your picture because I always figured that has to be annoying for beautiful women to constantly be pestered at Gen Con for their pictures. Glad to see you're such a good sport about it.
Doh! You should have! That's why I wore the costume! I appreciate not wanting to pester me but I also really appreciate the fact that people were excited about my costume! I love compliments! HAH! And you saw that Sean posted a thread about "take a picture with Amiri" because we were wanting tons of pictures. Next time!

Wish I had been there. I would have loved to have had a pic with you. Pure Awesomeness!

I tried to keep an eye out for ya, but I lost the whole day hanging out with Batman, Batgirl, Hush and Poison Ivy. GenCon was wild.
Awesome work there. :D

Did you buy a surfboard to whitle down or are you taking another approach? ;)

1" thick pink insulation foam. It's in two pieces so we can disassemble it and fit it in a suitcase (as it's about 5 1/2 feet long altogether), with rare earth magnets at the connection points to hold it together.

Jodi Lane wrote:There's always next PaizoCon and GenCon!!! I know for a fact, I'll be there in costume! :o)Well, I'll definitely have my daughter take a picture next year! Although I'll get the inevitable, "Mommy, why is daddy smiling in this picture?" My daughter is a little stinker that way. :)
Very cool! How old is she? I had several little young gals taking pictures with me! It was awesome! Perhaps they'll talk their parents into letting them dress up like badass barbarians for GenCon next year!
Don't look now, but you are on IO9.
How come nobody mentioned the Giant Magic:The Gathering cards? Makes it hard to keep a forest up your sleeve.
Holla! That I am! I saw that, how cool right? :oD I like the picture too, and saved it! Yoink!
Jodi,
Thank you for putting together such an amazing costume and being so gracious to the multitudes of people who wanted to take pictures of you. ^_^

No problem Jeremy! It wouldn't be any other way for me...my theory is make it awesome or stay home lmao! I really had fun with the pics :oD
Hey Jodi. Would you like a sword to go with the costume?
Are you serious or is my natural tendency to think someone's being perv coming in handy right now? Haha!!!
Actually Sean is working on an amazing replica of Amiri's sword for me right now. We just got WAY too busy before. It's going to look amazing!

HAHAHA! That cracked me up--a surf board! Although the material that some boards are made out of would probably work right? He's taking another approach entirely :o)
Jodi Lane wrote:There's always next PaizoCon and GenCon!!! I know for a fact, I'll be there in costume! :o)You need to dress as Desna! ;D
Now often, I do dress up like Desna but only for Sean :oP

Thank you again hunny! You rock. He's amazing at making stuff out of that type of foam. We'll have to put an "Amiri Sword" tutorial along with the Costume one!

I was being serious, as i am starting to get back into making LARP safe weapons, in the european tradition (carved foam, fibre cores, and painted latex skin), as opposed to the american tradition(nerf weapon as we call them over here), and I thought it would be a fun project. But if you have something half done, it is no big deal.

That's really nice of you! I appreciate the offer! I think it's a good idea for you to send me your contacts though. That way if anyone else I know is interested they can contact you! Do you have a business facebook or anything like that?
