Touch spells and unarmed strike

Advice

The general question: can a player make an unarmed strike while holding a touch spell, and gain the effects of both the spell and the unarmed strike damage?

The specific question: I have a Druid player in my game with the Plant Domain. She wanted to cast Produce Flame, and then use her Wooden Fists to attack an enemy, dealing both the fire damage from the spell and the unarmed strike damage from her attack.

My initial ruling (following the guideline of "say YES" to your players, unless there's a good reason not to) was that she could do so, but she'd have to hit the enemy's actual AC, rather than his touch AC. However, I'm wondering what the "correct" interpretation of this situation would be.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

That is how I would do it also.

Yes, you can deliver a touch attack with an unarmed strike as you've described. See the notes about Holding the Charge under Touch Spells in the Combat section.

One of my players is Monk/Sor/Enlightened Fist. Here's how I handle it.

To use a Touch spell along with Unarmed attack damage they must roll to hit the opponents normal AC. Or they may just use the Touch spell normally and roll to hit the Touch AC, but it doesn't include the UA damage.

Thanks very much! That's exactly what I ended up doing, but I'm glad that my off-the-cuff ruling turned out to be correct after all.

Thanks, Lathiira, for the reference as well.
