Rules Questions

Question is easy enough.

What counts as a polearm and what doesnt?

Can anyone help?

Liberty's Edge

Name a weapon and I'll tell you whether it's a polearm or not.

(This is easier than making a list.)

Prolly weapons with "reach", like lances, guisarmes... They have the "reach" ability stated in the Weapon's table.

All standard weapons with reach are two handed weapons, it is why Phalanx Fighting is a useful ability (allows you to use them with one hand).

The Fighter's weapon training feature describes the pole arm group as glaive, guisarme, halberd, and ranseur.

Edit: The APG lists the bardiche, bec de corbin, bill, glaive-guisarme, lucerne hammer, and mancatcher as polearms as well.

In game terms my guess would be a piercing or slashing reach weapon mounted on a rigid handle (a pole!) but don't quote me :-)

Liberty's Edge

I wouldn't call a lance a pole-arm.

The ones I see in the Core Rulebook at first glance are:

Glaive
Guisarme
Halberd
Ranseur

Liberty's Edge

In the APG, they are:

Bardiche (debatable, but I think they mean for it to be)
Bec de Corbin
Bill
Glaive-guisarme
Lucerne Hammer

Thank you for fast responses, that clarified the situation i was having :)
Thanks

True, I was too fast in that one.

Furthermore the PF lance is a spear designed for cavalry use, not for infantry.
It is indeed one of the worst weapons for most characters fighting on foot.
