Full-Attack Actions

Rules Questions

Hi all. I've got some questions about full-round attacks.

First of all, a monk seems to get a third attack as part of his Flurry of Blows at 6th level, is that correct? Is it also correct that when he gets to 8th level, the extra attack (from his BAB) gets added in for four FoB attacks?

(I assume that the monk also has an option, at 8th level, to do two non-FoB attacks if he so desires.)

On a similar note, a ranger with the Rapid Shot feat can attack twice per round as a full-action. When he gets to 6th level, does the extra attack (again from BAB) get added on for three attacks per round?

Thanks all.

In the case of monk, you have two options at level 6:

- Full attack a flurry for +4/+4/-1 (full roun)
- Single attack for +4 (standard action)

At higher level, options increase. Example, level 15. You can:

- +13/+13/+8/+8/+3/+3 flurry as full round
- +11/+6/+1 full attack as a full round (not recommended, since you will generally use monk weapons or unarmed strike, but who knows)
- standard action attack for +11 (useful if you move before or after an attack, or use vital strike)

THIS IS BECAUSE FLURRY AND BAB FOLLOW TWO DIFFERENT TABLES.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the case of ranger, you always use the same BAB. So, you can

- Attack in melee (standard) +6
- Full attack in melee (full round) +6/+1
- Full attack in melee, Two Weapon Fight (+4/+4/-1)

The same with Rapid Shot.

- Standard attack, single arrow (standard action) +6
- Full Attack (full round) +6/+1
- rapid Shot Full attack (full round) +4/+4/-1

Hope can be useful, in case is not clear, don't be afraid of state it ;)

Just a note: Monks and Maneouvers

You can use your level as BAB when doing a single Maneouver if you are a Monk.
So add:
Level 6 Monk
- Single Combat Maneuver for +6 (standard action)

Level 15 Monk
- Single Combat Maneuver for +15 (standard action)

IMO: If you are a Monk you need Vital Strike or some Maneuver related feat in order to be effective with standard attack actions.

Yeah, I agree completely. And thanks for the CM addition: I completely overlooked it.

That is useful, many thanks!
