Players Map Handout

Serpent's Skull

Anybody worked their magic and done a players map of Smugglers Shiv without all the encounter locations labeled? This seems to be the easiest way for my players to plod their way around the island.

Have you tried just extracting the map with Acrobat Reader 8? Just select the image and then drag it to your desktop. The maps are usually not flattened so when you pull the image the labels stay behind.

I was thinking of drawing Ishirou's treasure map by hand. But I would make it only a rough, partial map of the island showing the location of the Money Pit and maybe a few other important locations (like Red Mountain).

I used SomePDF Image extractor to make a full page map (no borders) of the island without any of the locations on it. It looks pretty good. I've been toying with the idea of a hand drawn map too, but don't think I could pull it off.

If any of these can be scanned and sent to me at

that would be great. pdf or jpeg or bitmap...anything.

Just used the Some PDF image extractor to get a copy of the map without the markings on it.

I'm not 100% sure i'm allowed to send the file to you, legally that is?

Can someone from the paizo team tell me if i'm allowed to or not? =]

He did. It's not, 'some random PDF image extractor'. It's Some PDF Image Extractor.

Tried that program. It doesn't like Windows 7.

Not sure why, it's the program I used and am running Windows 7.

Probably chair to keyboard interface issues. It keeps locking up and asking me to install Windows XP service packing 2 to resolve the issue.

Right click the icon and go into properties and change the compatibility option to Win XP and see if that works.

I just ran Mists of Mwangi through it to see if I could get any kind of error, but it ran fine for me. Wish I could help more, it's pretty handy. :-(

I had issues too - then a couple months later found my images dumped in the default "My Documents" image folder, rather than where I indicated I wished them dumped. This was also on windows 7.

What? I'm not looking at any other threads! The thread title said Players map!

Windows 7 seems to enjoy doing that. It appears that Microsoft feels they have to protect me from myself, so everything must be saved in My Documents rather than where I want it to be saved.. Makes things very annoying considering I use partitions a lot, and actually don't want my C:\ partition to be filled up with lots of junk..
