I suppose this in not best place for this kind of question, so please move it to better spot if needs be, but I have a question for the guys who choose which art to include in the products: How do you decide on the acceptable level of quality and how much do you pay for the art? I realize that the price is business info and it should not be available to the public, so I'd be grateful for a general estimate of how much artwork costs - nothing specific. Also, I would be grateful if someone could comment on this illustration, on its quality and is good enough to be included in some of Paizo's products. Once again, I'm just looking for a general estimate. I'm not looking for a job, and I am not the author of the illustration - a friend of mine is. This is the art in question

Not sure if you are aware, but a couple of contacts listed here. In particular, there is an email address for Sarah Robinson and general art submissions.
All that said, the sample is pretty nice - seems to me it would be a great fit for some of the Open Design (Kobold Quarterly) publications.

This is cover art for one SF anthology printed in my country. I'm trying to determine, for the curiosity's sake, how much would that illustration get paid in a bigger market. For instance, right now the author of that illustration would get no more than 500 euros in my country.

The look of our books, as well as who does the art (which equates to how the art looks and what art themes our books have) are pretty much handled by Sarah Robinson.

I'm pretty sure Paizo is not going to give out a blanket amount of what they pay for art here on the message boards - that kind of thing tends to be more of a fairly private business matter. In my experience, the amount an artist is paid varies by who the artist is and who the company is as much as it does by the normal things like size of the final art, color vs BW etc.
By the way, I have no idea how to equate 500 euros ... do you know what that would be in dollars out of curiosity?

Yes to all that.
