After announcing how many cards you intend to draw, and then after drawing said cards, what happens to the deck? Does it stay the same, minus any cards that are supposed to be discarded if they were drawn(The Jester and the Fool)? Or does the deck disappear or is no longer usable?
Thanks in advance,
Evil G.

It just sits there in your pack taking up space. I suppose you could sell it to someone. I usually run it as the deck disappears after everyone in the party has either drawn or declared they are not drawing any, but that's DM fiat.
RAW, nothing happens. You just can't draw from that deck again... ever.

We tend to keep it around just in case someone decides to throw a Mage's Disjunction at us. Or to use as an incentive, offering a draw from the deck in exchange for something we need.
More awesome ideas. Thanks SlimGauge. I like the idea of offering a draw from the deck for something in exchange.

Just because I so seldom get an opportunity to voice my hatred, I really hate the Deck of Many Things.
Your hatred is duly noted and recorded. ;P I only wanted to clarify the use of one, because I recently purchased a brand new one from Green Ronin. They had one on Amazon going for over $200.00. But Green Ronin is selling them right now, for $5 a pop. They're having a Ten Year Anniversary sale, so I grabbed one. I may or may not use it in my game. It has wonderful are though.
I also love the "Harrow Deck of Many Things" used in "Curse of the Crimson Throne". That made me order a Harrow Deck as well. LOL!

I normally have some powerful entity appear with an "opportunity". I do a sample run before the real one, that does not count. Then the fun begins. After the fun is over the entity disappears.
As in "the entity is the one offering the deck"?
I planned to have my characters find in clutched it a corpse's hand. Of course, they may not know what it is right away. And they can't draw a card until they announce how many they intend to draw. Which means they'll get to do some research to identify the deck first. I imagine since they have to announce before they draw, the deck wouldn't let them draw a card until they figured out they had to annouce their draws. This will be fun. Hell, they may carry it around for god knows how long before they figure out how to use it. (These are newbies to the game, and they've never played D&D, so it may take them awhile.)

I love GR's Deck. They have a Deck of Illusions that's pretty cool as well.
My favorite is the Tarot Deck of Many Things. Yes, 78 cards of awesome goodness and doom. Lore says this is the original deck, of which all others are but pale imitations. Originally published in Dragon #77. Reprinted in the Encyclopedia Magica, Vol 1.

I'll have to see if I can dig up a copy of Dragon 77. I'm intrigued now. Thanks for the heads up.
I would actually recommend getting copies of the 4 volume set of Encyclopedia Magica. Every magic item ever published by TSR, including Artifacts and cursed items, from both 1st and 2nd editions of AD&D as well as the BECMI series. I see them at local Half Price Books for 12 bucks a pop all the time.

Another Question. How do you (GMs) handle the wishes when the moon card is drawn. Since the deck isn't good or evil, would you just follow the wishes as close to the wording as possible? Would it depend on the entity that created the deck? I know there is no wrong or right way to do it. Just wanting opinions.

I handle the wishes the same way I handle any other wish spell. If they decide to use the "specific wording" version of the spell, then I get a little judicious.

Love these books! The Bags of beans has accounted for some of the most memorable moments ever in my campaigns.
