Witch Spells Known?

Witch: What are her spells known? It's really unclear the way it's worded. "She may know any number of spells" could mean she knows all the spells on her list or could mean she can learn more like a wizard.

Read the rules on the Witch's familiar - it is her "spellbook".

But at the same time, they are stored in there as the "spells per day" but what I think Darkholme is asking, and currently my gf is looking for, is how many spells they know period.

Like the wizard, there is no cap on how many spells they can know. Kitty can hold an infinite number of spells. They can learn every spell on the witch spell lists, and they can research more. The "spells per day" is what they can prepare and cast, much like the wizard.

Although I think a "Charismatic Witch" archtype that made spontaneously casting witches would be an interesting one.

The Witch's familiar is her "spellbook." Witches learn spells in a manner almost identical to a wizard, except instead of writing the spell into their book from a scroll, they burn the scroll, mix it with some herbs and stuff, and feed it to their familiar. They can "know" however many spells they can afford to add to their familiar in this manner, just like a wizard and his spellbook.

When a witch prepares her daily allotment of spells, she spends 1 hour in communion with her familiar, at which point the prepared spells are stored in her mind, again like a wizard. If the familiar is killed, her prepared spells are not lost, though she has essentially lost her spellbook and is in a similar predicament as a wizard would be in such a scenario.

A 1st level witch's familiar starts knowing ALL cantrips and 4+Int mod 1st level spells. Each time the witch gains a level she may select two spells. These two spells can be from any spell level she is able to cast. So at 2nd level the witch may select 2 additional 1st level spells. At 3rd level the witch can seletect 2 addition spells that can be either 1st or 2nd level.

The witch can learn addition spells from other witch's familiars or from scrolls. There is no limite to the number of spells a witch can learn but she must learn them just as the wizard does. the witch just uses her familiar inplace of a spellbook.

Ah ok, my bad, this is what I get for getting up way to early, and then trying to process way too many things at once.
