Skill tricks clarification requested.

Handle Animal skill allows you to teach animals tricks. It references that you can teach an Int 1 animal 3 tricks, and an Int 2 animal 6 tricks.

1) Do Int 3+ animals have unlimited tricks, or conversely do they not require any tricks since they are smart enough to do all the tasks (and more) which tricks cover?

2) I think there is another recent thread which sort of details my next question, but is "General Purpose" also obsolete for an Int 3+ animal?

3 or more int means you dont need tricks. but you still can teach them to them, its just a waste of time

Unless it's a druid animal companion, something with an int of 3 or greater cannot be Animal type (but rather it would be Magical Beast, and they are sentient and thus don't use "tricks").
In the case of the druid it will get bonus tricks for being an animal companion, so I doubt you'd need more than a base of 6 anyway. Also, a druid's animal companion explicitly stays Animal type (and thus non-sentient) above 2 int.

This makes sense to me too, but I was just wondering if there is a rule reference for this somewhere? I can't find one.

My query is with regards to animal companions, whose Int can increase with ability increases at every 4th HD and via magical means. I just wanted to confirm if there is anything explicitly stated in the rules about this.

Since I am building an animal companion builder into my spreadsheet, I wanted to know if I can just remove the reference to "tricks" after an animal hits Int 3, or if I should keep it in.

For now I'm just going to drop the reference to tricks for Int 3 animal companions, but I will keep in the reference for "General Purpose" since Combat Training has effects beyond the scope of tricks.
