Rolling him for a Council of Thieves game. His name is Jet, and he is going to be working as a general store merchant. They also do laundry and have a couple of other experts and casters on hand to provide simple services for cheap prices. They provide basic services like rat extermination, fixing broken items, and just "handyman" type work.
I am trying to make him so he isn't specifically scared of melee
His stats are as follows on a 20 point buy
10
8(+2)
16(-2)
12
8(+2)
17
Right now, I am trying to decide where to take him from here. I am lost as to what bloodline I want to take him, elemental air kinda sticks out to me right now but I am on the fence.
I also don't know where to take him for feats either, I am really at a loss for what would be useful for a sorcerer other than maybe defensive combat training or combat casting.
I am planning on running him as an enterprising naive kid out for adventure after working a dull 9-5 desk job. He knows he is better than his post and feels indignant that he is left to fend for himself. That should be about where he the party picks him up.
CG for an alignment.
Advice? Suggestions?

Toughness works wonders. So does Improved Initiative.
PS. Your point buy right now is 0-2+10+2-2+13. That's 21. You're a point off, there.

Thanks! I found it, I pulled one more from wis and redistributed a few points.
I think I am going with toughness like you suggested, his low health and AC is really concerning.I decided I am playing him up as a scoundrel type. Shifty type, dealing with the wrong crowds and very self indulgent. I think I am going to take his second level in rogue just for this reason.
He is carrying a shortsword on his back, and has a switchblade, butterfly knife, and a kukri all concealed on his body. Not to mention the boot blade.
I bought him a pet Dire Rat and named him Ted, I am also taking creative license and making him a clean rat and giving him toughness as well instead of skill focus perception.

Maybe give him the Arcane bloodline; he can have a rat familiar, too! Make Knowledge (local) the bloodline skill, and maybe the mending cantrip (he likes to fix things).

I think this is starting to grow on me actually! I already have mending as one of my cantrips, that is actually part of the cottage industry he helps with back at the shop, using it to get out all of the really nasty stains and fix up a torn hem.
Done and done, I will have a rat familiar and a pet dire rat! Their names will be Socrates and Ben!
That's it, changing the character name to Willard.

Great! Don't forget prestidigitation, too. Socrates and Ben: I love it!

off-topic (sorta):
Tengu have been growing on me; I've been noodling around with a tengu conjurer who has a toad familiar, summons critters to eat, uses Perform (oratory) to uncannily mimic party-mates' voices, and is generally a disagreeable fellow.
This has nothing to do with the movie The Dark Crystal I hope. Skeksis still scare the living daylights out of me.
Also, sidenote : Is there a reference anywhere that I can use to figure out how to advance a monster? I.E. It goes from 1 HD to 2 etc NVM, forum search FTW

Do you have the Pathfinder Bestiary? Monster advancement is discussed therein starting on page 294.

While that may be true (Have the book in my lap as we speak) it is FAR from clear how exactly to go about it. Has me scratching my head, I am ashamed to say. I found a nice little java app that does the trick though.

Personally, I like to add bout 18 inches to the average height of kenku and/or tengu, throw a black hooded robe on them, and treat them like the kif from CJ Cherryh's Pride of the Chanur saga. They're scoundrels that everyone else looks down on, but in actuality are quite canny and charming....in their way. Also master linguists. They're pretty strong and graceful, but have delicate appetites (ironically, they get queasy if they're not eating live prey....).
I can see the guy being kind of snivelling and whining, always trying to undermine all the PCs EXCEPT the one he sees as Alpha. He wants to be the Beta to that Alpha, and everyone else in the group submissive to him. He'll usually be a bit cowardly, but will take headstrong risks to impress his Alpha.

"Pride of the Chanur" is SO GOOD!!! I've read it like 5 or 6 times. I'm lucky we have a decent library system around here.

elemental air kinda sticks out to me right now but I am on the fence.
I was statting up my first sorcerer the other day (I usually play wizards), and elemental air seems like a fantastic choice. I put mine together as an ultimate ray-wielding arcanist, with Weapon Focus(ray) and Precise Shot.
And it seems like there'd be great RP backstory for a flightless avian character.

See that is what I was thinking but I decided to take him down a different path. I decided on taking his down the Adopted path as well. The owner and proprietor of the store he works at is his adopted stringent gnomish father. He works the place with all of his adopted brothers and sisters of various races.
The father runs the books and helps with the spellcasting duties. Cleaning, mending, stocking the store with plenty of ice, inscriptions and the like. My character helps with this when he is out of the shop and runs the store front as well.
Half-orc brother who runs the backroom and stocks, occasional odd-jobs.
Teenage maturity Elf sister running the storefront and helping be the face of the company.
Dwarven boy doing most of the street work, delivery and errands.
I choose collection as his second, as something of a kleptomania that I imagine him having.
Oh and I am TOTALLY stealing that Perform (Oratory) idea! Couple that with ventriloquism and I will literally be putting word in other peoples mouths.
