And you know, I think you're right. Swedish fish would not go well with chocolate.

Darn Post Monster.

I wonder if the pope likes swedish fish, or chocolate? Maybe we should start a thread and ponder this as a group?

I think there should be a subset of OTD called the Soapbox. It would make it easier to ignore the political/religious/troll types. The could stand on the virtual corner of the boards all day holding discussions with themselves.

Agreed, although I could recommend some more colorful names for that section.
Yes and instead of debating we could all just go to that forum and laugh at the people otherwise posting?? Hope
I do that anyway.

Really? I enjoyed the movie quite a lot. I mean it's not on my top 10 list or anything, but it was fun.

I think the backlash killed it. It was a good movie, but Cameron's media were selling it all as the technological leap forward. Yes, it made a TON of money, but when you consider that the 3D effect added 60% to the average ticket price, it couldn't help but make money.

Let's see, $760 million - the extra paid for 3D tickets = $475 million which barely beats Star Wars total gross (which will change when Lucas re-releases THIS in 3D).

AND, if you adjust for inflation, then $475 million doesn't even crack the top 50...

Well, I don't rate my enjoyment of a film by how much money may or may not bring in. In fact most of my favorite films aren't real big money makers.

I find him largely hit or miss. I LOVED Signs and thought The Village was interesting. Lady in the Water I could take or leave along with the Sixth Sense. Unbreakable blew my mind, however. Great performances all around, although they were occasionally wooden.

It has been confirmed that Ahsoka falls out of the Jedi order shortly before Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Though it is still unknown as to why she leaves the order, and to what happens to her after order 66 is issued. It is rumored that she is one of the hidden founders of the rebel alliance.

+1 million. The Last Airbender movie sucked. Hard. M Night Shyamalan makes terrible movies. Really, really terrible movies.

Dumb producers didn't want me to have a twist where Aang was actually dead.

And the kidlet had a good day (hooray) which means I get an hour to do stuff while he happily plays How to Train Your Dragon. :)

Of course I can't stand Avatar either.
Meh, I give it some props. The acting and plot sucked, but the concept design was done by Wayne Barlowe. That has to count for [i]something/i].
Hey at least it looked awesome in 3D right guys?........*cries for wasting her money*

Never saw it in 3D. 3D movies make my eyes hurt and give me vertigo.

My friend Mick went to see Avatar in IMAX 3D while on acid, and he said it was pretty good.

I didn't have high hopes for it so I honestly said hey even if the story is crap at least the fight scenes would be cool to watch in 3D. What a waste of 3D.
I'm sorry you didn't care for it. I found the movie a bit long and a little cheesy, but the action made up for it. I really don't see where all the Avatar hate I've been encountering lately is coming from.
I love love the cartoons-I own all the seasons. My bf saw the movie and liked it without seeing the show. Idk, I'm just a purest when it comes to Avatar.

OOPS!

I thought you meant the blue people avatar, not the last airbender movie.

Oh no, I'm an overweening purist on that angle.

Animation forever, live action never.
