Ok, so my mother-in-law feels that she is "allergic" to just a ton of stuff. She keeps adding to the list. Currently it is anything with milk (and when I say "milk" I mean if one of the smallest ingredients has the tiniest amount of some milk-like product -- like "whey" -- then it is banned), tomato and legumes (peanuts, beans, peas, etc.). There were a few other random things that weren't consistent as well that I wasn't ever able to keep up on. What do these foods supposedly do to her? Lord knows, because no one else does. She says that milk products make her sleepy. My initial response is -- "and...?" But she already sleeps around 14 hours a day and she claims it will cause her to sleep even more. So now with this trip, she has added "fruit" to the list. "All fruit?" Apparently the acid in fruit upsets her stomach. "What about watermelon and cantelope?" "That does other things." Whole wheat pasta is out. Anything with corn syrup, fructose syrup, etc.

Pretty much food.

It would be one thing if she was trying to be healthy -- we're trying to limit our consumption of high fructose corn syrup in our family -- but she's not. She does it because she's neurotic.

It wouldn't be so bad if she just did it herself -- but she has to impose this on the rest of the family. And she has some kind of martyr complex. Can you imagine trying to find a restaurant where she feels she can eat?

Apparently Chinese food is still ok. (WTF?)

To top it off, she likes to play games (like board games and so on). The problem there is that she is both a sore loser and a sore winner.
