I'm new to the Pbp setting. But I am an experienced mostly with 3.5 and am looking to give Pathfinder a try. I am normally a DM for my group and I am looking to try and run a home-brewed campaign. Any Takers? I need 3-5 people.

What kind of setting and what are the parameters for what is allowed for character creation?
I was thinking of using the Forgotten realms setting from 3.5 and just tweaking it as that is what I am most familiar with. I am looking to run a campaign that I made. I'm looking for a lot of description from people, as my campaign is going to be very story heavy(I want that to be the main focus), I'll even award some bonus exp for great posts.
I was thinking 5th level characters. 25 points point buy. 11,000gp for gear. Any classes from the Apg or Core book. Races can be any of the core ones. If you want a different one run it by me.

in fact, I may have a group of 3 more experienced players who are looking for a good GM to do just this. Were on the reaper mini board. Very active players who check posts daily.
our last GM dissapeared at the 12 week mark, which is typical of most PbP games, unfortuantley.

It sounds like it would be fun/interesting if there is still an opening i'd love to apply. I am familiar with forgotten realms and have all of the RPG books for it but if you want i'll stick with the PF stuff and build a character that way i have a lvl 5 character built already for 25 point buy. But he is a paladin/cleric gestalt character so it will take some reworking.
The biggest issue i will have is how often you will need us to post if its a constant posy between x and x time then i'll bow out now. I work a 2 weeks on and a 2 weeks off schedule and when i'm at work i'm working 12.5+ hours a day and it alternates between day's and nights from hitch to hitch so it makes it really difficult to join these pbp's =/

My PbPs have thinned out a little recently, so I'd be interested in a new game.
Not sure on a character yet though, what sort of themes did you have in mind for your storyline? Whenever I'm in a Forgotten Realms game I get tempted to play a Red Wizard, but they're not usually a very appropriate character for most campaigns.
My last active game here has just fallen by the wayside so rather than flee the Paizo boards completely, if you've still got space then I'm interested, especially as you pointed Dharman over here, and from his original thread he sounds like he has very similar circumstances and tastes to my own.
I prefer homebrews to Adventure Paths unless there is no choice, and the system and level range are right in my sweet spot so I'd like to be considered as long as not being overly familiar with the Realms isn't a big drawback - despite many years and editions of D&D, my only real previous experience was in a long-running face to face game run by a good friend, but it was a homebrew which only used the Realms as a framework/map.
I don't really like 'splat creep' so I'm also happy that you are restricting it to Core + APG. You'll inevitably get asked about traits (so I'll do it first for a change!), and if you are happy to work together on moulding a character, then I'm quite happy to let other people call dibs on 'roles' and try and come up with something complementary once you can give us a bit more idea on background, if the PCs have a set goal in mind or there is an element of player choice in the direction we take etc.

If I get a slot, I'm also very open to pre-game discussions with other players as I find more thought about putting together a group in advance pays off compared to letting everyone have a totally free hand and then trying to shoehorn a potentially disparate group of characters into the story.
Even though my ability to post may be difficult i'll still create a character anyway (always nice to have for future use) I was thinking of a 5th lvl halfing rng. I will post stats and such later.

if I were you I'd give your hand at being a player for a bit, can give you ideas and you get to learn the various codes easily too like the spoiler code and stuff. Plus you can get to learn how some fourms die and some survive, it's what I'm doing atm before DMing.

That could be a fun idea, and while the Thayan Knights are technically slaves, I don't think it would be too uncommon for the less brutish knights to be seen as trusted advisors, particularly on martial matters, and therefore granted a larger degree of autonomy.
Then we are in agreement?

So one or two line responses for your "turn" are not going to cut it. So please apply if your ok with posting often, and writing good stories.

Just before I head over to the other boards to sign up for an account, I'd just to clarify this point a little. I'm fine with good-length posts, but I'm not too comfortable with the idea of posting the actions of NPCs if that's what will be involved, I feel as though that's stepping on the GMs toes a little.

I've created an account over at the Reaper Boards, although I was rather sold on it being a Pathfinder game instead of 3.5. Haven't made any decisions on what I would play yet (would like a little background first) but I'm usually a bit wary of games with too many weird and wonderful options in play - one of the reasons I moved over to PF was that it is (currently) relatively splat free, as well as fixing a few of the parts of 3.5 that can cause issues.
Given you look like you've got the 5 players you wanted, I'll bow out. Thanks for the offer and good luck with the game.
We're starting in Waterdeep, and the party is really varied, so I'd say "no preference", but if you want to wait for GM word, that's cool.

For what it's worth, trolls have a hard time with the exotic body piercings. Dang holes keep growing over. LOL
