Bonded Mount and the Leadership Feat.

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I had an idea rolling around in my head that conception-wise, would work as a really cool concept.

Now for Paladins they have the bonded mount which they can choose at 5th level. Typically a Horse for Medium characters and Pony for Small, with different choices depending on character race, etc.

What if instead of the straight out one mount, split it up into several smaller ones. Something along the lines of a Hound Master, or whichever flavor you wish to call it. A kindof wild hunt feel in a sence. I think it could also work with the cohort from the leadership feat with modifications.
Paladin of Erastle anyone?
I'll have to pick the brain of my DM's on sunday to see what they think. Any thoughts?

What did you have in mind exactly? A swarm (type) of hunting dogs? Because if you meant what I think you meant which is a weaker companion but more of them it's a bad idea. For an NPC great! Very flavorful. For a PC this will be annoying bookkeeping and hordes of weaker creatures will usually present less of a challenge and be less help than one strong one. They'll get used as cannon fodder and that can rub some DM's the wrong way. It's supposed to be a "special" bond. Once you get a few levels past 5 expect your hounds to die a lot.

flavor doesn't seem paladin ish, might be ok for a ranger or druid type rather. Maybe use it as an inspiration for a custom class..

paladin I don't think so.
