I am working a mystic theurge and have wondered about the following spell combination and what others think.
You have an invisible BBEG
The MT casts
See Invisibility
School divination; Level bard 3, sorcerer/wizard 2
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (talc and powdered silver)
Range personal
Target you
Duration 10 min./level (D)
You can see any objects or beings that are invisible within your range of vision, as well as any that are ethereal, as if they were normally visible. Such creatures are visible to you as translucent shapes, allowing you easily to discern the difference between visible, invisible, and ethereal creatures.
The spell does not reveal the method used to obtain invisibility. It does not reveal illusions or enable you to see through opaque objects. It does not reveal creatures who are simply hiding, concealed, or otherwise hard to see.
See invisibility can be made permanent with a permanency spell.
and then casts
Faerie Fire
School evocation [light]; Level druid 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, DF
Range long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Area creatures and objects within a 5-ft.-radius burst
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes
A pale glow surrounds and outlines the subjects. Outlined subjects shed light as candles. Creatures outlined by faerie fire take a -20 penalty on all Stealth checks. Outlined creatures do not benefit from the concealment normally provided by darkness (though a 2nd-level or higher magical darkness effect functions normally), blur, displacement, invisibility, or similar effects. The light is too dim to have any special effect on undead or dark-dwelling creatures vulnerable to light.
The faerie fire can be blue, green, or violet, according to your choice at the time of casting. The faerie fire does not cause any harm to the objects or creatures thus outlined.
Normally an invisible opponent can not be outlined/targeted by the fairie fire, but in this case I think it would work.
Any feed-back

Actually you dont need See Invis to cast Faerie Fire on the BBEG even if invisible. Faerie Fire is an Area of Effect spells (5' radius burst, if I remember correctly). You just have to center the area on the correct spot and if the BBEG is in the area then he will be affected by Faerie Fire.
See invisibility would help you make sure you caught the BBEG in the area but would not be required. If the BBEG is attacking your allies with melee attacks it would be pretty obvious what he was in.
