I actautly Dm 4th edition with my group but I guess this applies to all versions of D&d and Pathfinder games.
In my group I have a character who has a bad history with giants. To get revenge and impress people he likes to take their heads put them in a bag of holding and empty them out.
In 4th ed a Bag of Holding can take 2000 pounds of weight,
How much does a a giants head weigh.
Due to bone mass muscle structure I say its a lot heavier than merely doubling or tripling the weight.
Estimating the weight of an elephant or rhinos is a better example
so what does everyone elswe reckon if a large mans head is 8 - 11 pounds how myuch would a frost giant head weigh?

You are so one-dimensional.
A huge giant is about 18 feet. That's about 3 times as large as a man. Assuming the head of a giant has the same proportions as a that of a man, it would also be 3 times as large, but 27 times as heavy. 3x3x3=27.
You kinda forgot 2 dimensions...
Alternatively, you could divide the weight of a giant by the weight of a man, than multiply it with the weight of a man's head.
Edit: Honestly, what do they teach those kid in school these days?

Heads weigh 5-15% of the total weight of the body (so, 10%, average, we'll say).
In the 3.5 MM or the Pathfinder Bestiary, an adult male frost giant is about 15 ft. tall and weighs ~2800 lbs, so his head would weigh around 280 lbs. (Maybe 20-40% less if dehydrated and preserved, and the brains were scooped out and replaced with potpourri or something.)
There's a handy article about this sort of thing in Dragon Annual 1 called 'How Heavy is my Giant?' I used it extensively when playing Villains & Vigilantes and needing to know how much a superhero / villain who had turned their body to stone, diamond, steel, wood, ice, etc. would weigh.

Lol! That takes me back. That is exactly what me & my family used that article for back in the day. Fan-freakin-tastic!

Hmm. Isn't it wonderful when two sources agree and arrive at similar estimates through two different methods? Ah, blessed independent verification.
Just commenting on the beauty of the system.
