Okay, so I've barely skimmed it, but still, I love this book.

Excellent work guys.

Nothing else need be said.

I wants it!

It's probably going to be a while before it arrives over here in the UK though :(.

Just from my quick overview I can see a combination of information akin to the DMG I & II, Ultimate NPC's, Ultimate Toolbox, and Green Ronin's Advanced set of books. All that goodness in one concise package. Bravo!

Aroo? My FLGS said it wouldn't be released until the 30th... how did you guys get ahold of it so early?

My preciousssss... *counts the days until PaizoCon*

It gets sent to subscribers at the same time as it is sent to distribution. It takes about 2 weeks to go through distribution to the stores. Also, subscribers get the pdf for free, so people who are reading it now don't actually have their print version yet.

It's good to be a subscriber. Subscribe now and you could have it within a couple of days. ;)

Ah I see.

Subscribing -sounds- good but how much extra do you pay, and are you required to buy any new Paizo product that comes out? I don't always have extra cash on hand.

The shipping across the Atlantic for the roleplaying line is almost twice the cost of the PDF, otherwise I'd have already subscribed.

There are different subs for each product line. The shipping is very reasonable, and if you have a Pathfinder subscription, you get a discount on almost everything here.

That's a complicated question. There are different lines that you can subscribe to. It looks like the Core Rules line (which has 3-4 hardcover books per year) is cover price plus shipping. They really like to encourage the Adventure Path subscription, so if you have that you get 15% off everything (non-PDF) you order, subscription or not. If you subscribe to more than one line you can combine shipping.

You can always cancel a subscription if you decide you can't afford the next product. You aren't signing up for a fixed time. There is a "My Subscriptions" button (maybe not if you don't have any) that is really good about estimating what things will cost in the next shipment.

As Calixymenthillian mentions, that might not be worth it overseas with shipping + import taxes. At least the core books have reasonably priced pdfs!

Actually, the 15% discount applies to pdf's, too... The only limit to the discount is that it is on Paizo products, only.

Very frustrated right now. I'm a subscriber, but I can't download the PDF because they haven't actually shipped my copy yet, I'm stuck in 'Pending' on it. :(

Feeling your pain - I'm "pending" also...

I hadn't noticed that on PDFs (I get them all as a subscriber), but it does work on non-paizo physical products. I used it on Sunken Empires which is shipping with my sub (and making me be in the slower queue, so I don't have my PDF yet either).

Mine said that the pdf is not available until the 30th of June.

EDIT: And the 15% discount is really nice for buying all those PFS scenario's.

Here's an overview of the different subscriptions we offer.

Thanks!

I do still want to support my FLGS though... wouldn't subscribing cut them completely out of the loop?

Dork Lord, there is nothing saying you have to subscribe to all the lines. You can see my subscription lines and I still buy books and things from my FLGS just to help them out. I've bought a second Core and Bestiary from them. Pick one or two lines to subscribe to and buy the rest from your FLGS.

Just a suggestion and my 2 cp.

Only if you don't give back and run a few games to support your local FLGS. :)

Sovereign Court

I am resisting the shininess of the GMG so far for budget reasons.

The Treasure tables in the rewards chapter, the adventure rules chapter, and the NPC gallery are worth the cover price and then some. The rest is GM advice, but at least it isn't entirely directed at novice GMs (although they'll get a lot out of it).

I have to say, reading this book makes me want to run a sandbox campaign armed only with the random tables and statblocks. Mission accomplished.

I concur. I am currently gushing over Ch.7. There are so many useful things in this chapter!!

This.

I'm eagerly awaiting somebody building a magical piece of software to generate stuff off the tables in the GMG.

I've been waiting for it so I can put it on the Pathfinder incarnation of DMTools.org. :D

For once I agree with the pony

Still pending through, so all you who have your pdf's....You make me a sad panda.

How can you sleep at night?

If your subscription shipment hasn't gone out yet, you might want to contact customer service. I am pretty sure that they finished with the subscription run, so there very well might be a gremlin in the system.

Thanks for the tip. I've stuck a note in the Customer Service forum about my order status with a link to this thread.

Heh. and I get hit for that twice where I am. Once to get into the country, then another to ship it to my local city.

I despise the GST.

Mine came in the mail today. Must toss in my thoughts on just how AWESOME this book is. The tables alone, oh how I love them.

Just got the PDF. The "Words every DM should know" increased my English language skills by few notches, thanks Paizo.

It also makes me wonder what's better for the humanity: locking Mr. Pett and Mr. MacLean in a maximum security mental institution, or having them write more books for Paizo ? Maybe both can be done at the same time.

Also, here's a keg of Zywiec for including Polish nobility titles ! To be completely true, those are the late (western-influenced) ones as opposed to early Slavic ones, but still, anybody who recognizes the role my little country played in Middle Ages gets a salute from me.

It is indeed a great book. Seconded about the "words" page. I'm going to have to get open the PDF and paste those into a document so I can make a dictionary. I think I'm familiar with fewer than half...maybe a lot fewer than that.

Locking us away would probably increase our productivity... :)

You'd be surprised how many writers have read at least one dictionary. I think it's the equivalent of atheletes getting up when it's still dark outside just so they can exercise.

They actually like doing it.

I subscribe to stuff that I want in both print and PDF. The cost of shipping to the UK normally eats any discount and I pay virtually the same (or slightly more) as I would for just the print in the UK.

The big hardback RPG book cost almost as much to ship as to buy :(

Stuff that came out before I subscribed or things like flip-maps and cards get bought at the FLGS as the discount doesn't make up for the shipping if there is either no PDF or no free PDF.

So Paizo gets my cash for the lines for which I want everything and the FLGS gets the rest.
