All of the 4 panel or poster maps I can think of are at least a full city or region. If you look at the more recent products, there are encounters that they tell you "for this encounter you can use flip mat: woodlands" or "... Map pack: Waterfront" the flip mats and map pack are 5 foot squares able to be used with minis.

The Kingmaker Poster Map Folio should have hexes, but in general the poster maps are not gridded in any way.
