Is the swashbuckler class in the tome of secrets overpowered?
Personally, I don't think so - I kind of prefer it to the Freeport Corsair (which I prefered to the WotC offering of the time).
I had a player using a Corsair for Savage Tides and we converted 1/3 way into the AP to Pathfinder. We went with the Swashbuckler, but we haven't played much since then...

I was playing it during a Savage Tides campaign and it seemed par for power with the rest of the players. It was fun tanking with it. I made a lot of use of Feint + Thrust. I took Skill Focus: Bluff and almost never failed a Bluff check and it was a lot of fun. I can see how it may seem powerful, but the thrust can only be used with piercing weapons so I think that might balance it down. Also, we had access to any 3.n feats, so Greater Feint + Expert Tactician from Sword and Fist made him a badass.
Edit: I guess that doesn't really assuage your fears now does it?
