Hi folks,
Can someone describe what these books are? Are they magazines, stapled and folded? Or bound books? Hardcover or soft? Spines? Do they contain advertising, or just content? Are they trade-paperback size, or paperback-book size, or something else? Are they sold in stores, or only from the paizo website?
Is the content compatible with the official pathfinder games? (the 'sanctioned' games run by strict rules at conventions) Or are they just suggested house rules?
I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, but sometimes it's hard to figure out what all this paizo stuff actually is, it seems like there's dozens of things called "pathfinder" and no real clear explanations.
Thanks!

They are stabled and folded, cover cardstock and glossy. They are standard paper sized. All content, no contain advertising. They are sold anywhere that carries Paizo items
Some Items are allowed in PFS games, but some items are not. What are and are not allowed are in the organized play guide. But to use something from a book in PFS you must own that book.
Hope that helps some.
It's not silly questions at all. Pathfinder is the brand name, although ti covers different products from the RPG to the setting. If your playing in Pathfinder society games then the PFS guide can tell you what is and is not allowed.

They're soft-cover books. 32 pages long, stapled. Same front-space size as the Chronicles and modules.
They're all content, no adventure (that's the modules line), most of it player oriented, so lots of feats, spells and the like, pluss an awesme amount of Golarion background stuff, depending on the book. They're sold whereever the rest of Paizo's line is.

seeker got it. The Companions are thin enough that they don't have the title on the side, gorgeous covers. I'd actually say most content is/becomes legal for PFS play (there can be a lag between release and allowance).
You have to own it to use it, because the GM of the game may not have it so you have to be able to show content from that book.
Generally player friendly material, often linked in a general way to the AP's coming out at the time. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the replies folks, I've got to get some gnomey action going.
Pretty much, yes. Owingto the bidning the hardcovders may be slightly bigger but nothing signigicant
