Any chance we could get buttons added above the composition window for the various forum tags? The desired effect would be to insert the tags at the cursor. If text is selected, the opening/closing tags would be inserted at opposite ends.
As should be obvious from my posts and character sheets, I'm no slouch when it comes to formatting the hell out of my posts (I have a list of macros in ShortKeys even). However, I know of more than a few people who could really benefit from the improved ease-of-use. It would also be helpful when editing a post that's already been submitted.

Historically, we've been working very hard to avoid things that require any advanced browser features (where "advanced" is approximately equal to "anything newer than javascript"). Partly, this is because when we first started the site, there was still a high enough percentage of folks who didn't have those features, and then there were an assortment of mobile browsers coming in that lacked some of these advanced features. Fortunately, mobile browsers have come a long way quickly, and we're a bit more willing to consider stuff like this... so consider it under consideration.
I am also casting my vote in favor of this effort! This would remove one of the largest headaches for PbP players.
