Centaurs in Eberron

3.5/d20/OGL

Ok I'm still learning the whole Eberron setting and one of my players want to play a Centaur. What region would they most likely come from? I'm not sure I see anyting specifically about them in any of the books. Should I just pick a planes area? Insight from anyone more knowledgeable on the setting?

I would guess the Eldeen reaches. It is a druid controlled forest heavy area but the best fit I think with strong ties to the fey plans.

The Talenta plain is a massive plains bordering a desert but it is full of two things, halflings and dinosaurs

The Exchange

Yes, Eldeen Reaches seems most appropriate. The Talenta Plains might also be fine, as it's a big place. And there are big empty spaces, woods and so on in most of the Five Nations, especially in Breland and Karrnath.

Thanks

WARNING THREADJCK IN PROGRESS!!!

I'm trying to get some answers here rather than start a new thread for what is a simple question.

Can anyone recommend any 3rd party and or Pazio/pathfinder modules that really fit with ebberon. Anywhere in the world is fine it doesn't HAVE to be xendrik or sharn.
I'm asking cause my DM is dissatisfied with the current campaign and it shows. 2 TPK's in two sessions is not the norm for him. If I can get him back to running the kind of game he likes in a setting he enjoys then he'll stop throwing cr 6 monsters against us cr 3 charecters and wondering why we die. Thankls for any help/advice/source material.

The Big Three Dungeon/Dragon APs (Shackled City, Age of Worms, Savage Tide) all had conversion tips for Eberron (and Faerun) at the end of most chapters to help DMs who didn't want to run the stories in Greyhawk. If you're interested in any of those, they might be one way to go.

I have run STAP in Eberron twice now. You pick something you want to run then work at converting it. All the AP's to date will fit in eberron with a little work, any mod could infact fit if your willing to work at it.

Just pick something you want to run, many of us would be happy to give ideal or help on making it fit.

I missed this part.

What kind of game has he run in the past that you know he likes? The suggestions posted are well and good but if he doesn't care for any of those styles they won't be any better ;)

Out of curiosity, how did you get that to work? If you discussed it elsewhere (I expect there are ancient threads knocking about on this) could you let me know where? Cheers.

pretty well honestly. My 2nd game is a pbp that is still ongoing, we are still on part three. I placed sasserine off the coast of Q'Barra, on that big island on the map at the southern region of The Lhazaar principalities, right below Lorghalan. I did not give the dragonmarked houses any real control in the city, being kinda out in the boonies and all. The scarlet brotherhood was replaced with the Inspired, who have been an issues for the party.

Currently they group just had hit the ruins of Tamoachan, which is an old eleven ruin located in the scimitar jungle of southern Valenar. They got to play with a deathless that did not take all that kindly to the looting of said ruin.

I placed the isle of dread in the thunder sea between Avernal and Xen'drik, with the olmen being elves in place of humans. Per Avernal elves at that, with more of a tribal vibe, and "Honored elders" being deathless leading each tribe.

should be fun.

He likes political intrigue and the not-hack and slash modules. He loved it when we had to figure stuff out and hated it when we didnt even try just kept summoning monkeys off natures ally 1 and let them pull the levers and take the hits.

No one in our group does the RP courtly graces bs, one of us will take the skill point hit because he loves to have us make dipomacy checks for stuff and then it's the same player over and over again, mostly me as a wizard the defacto leader.
What got us into this mess is I wanted a nature based campaign and all the other players loved it,a druid(me),a centaur,a forest gnome and a elemental based sorcerrer. Trouble is he got bored running the game and didn't care that because we had more than 4 players the exp didnt get us to the level the module said we should be to fight the cr 5 animated tree with trample. It killed 2 out of 4 in the first round. After the TKP all he could say was" well I ran the module as written ,it's not my fault you had too many people" The other people are part timers that show up once a month at best, but they still drain exp.
My point is if the DM isn't into the game then he won't care about anything and takes it out on us players. I'm gonna try and shut down the campagin cause he hates the idea of a forest campaign with elves and pixies and all the other fey and forest stuff he wants urban cities and bar fights and crowded towns not dryads and redcaps. My fault for suggesting it.
we have other dm's ones learning and the other we won't play under ever again. His campaigns are waaayy too out there. Classic example.."make 5 savings throws as the kobold assasign puts a locking garotte with contact poison around your neck, oh and the garrot is made of adamantie wire so no chance of breaking it, he he he. Yea we won't let that guy DM any more. his villians always get away on there black dragon steeds.

We can't go back to Age of Worms because we just got doen with that one..TPK. So it looks like I'll try to intrest him in savage tide or something. He just wants something in ebberon not xendrick or sharn based. I'll stop rambling now thanks for the suggestions.

Cheers. In terms of the later segments, how did you handle those? For example, did you just run with Demogorgon and the demon armies or did you change those into something more Eberron-y?

Demogorgon I had as one of the ancient demonlords of old, trapped in a demi-plan of his own deep within Khyber. His skim was not only to bring both minds together but to also brake free of his prison and take command of the world above.

"wells of darkness"
I replaced broken reach with the great crag in Droaam and the red shord with the Daughters of Sora Kell, mostly Sora Teraza

The well itself I replaced with another Demi-plan within Khyber

"Enemy of my Enemy" I went plan hopping.

"CHARON I left as a unique boatman, he alone could shift though the mystic and unknowable "river" way of the plans.

Iggwilv: I had as a witch Queen within Thelanis.
Orcus: I had as a lord of Mabar
Gwynharwyf: Her and the court of stars I went with Lamannia
Malcanthet: I placed in the same Demi-plan as Demogorgon with hopes of becoming "The big dog" of the yard so to speak. She may be trapped, but shes wants the whole of the prison and all those cultist. Better to reign in hell and all that.

I need to dig my notes out, But at the speed of a pbp it'll be a while before I need em lol

Steven, glad you liked, I enjoy converting things to set worlds. My players liked eberron and since I had the notes I just used it for my PBP. I really never liked grayhawk.
