Disney Princesses

So I was watching Enchanted the other night with my daughter, and it suddenly occured to me: Virtually every princess/heroine ever created by Disney is a mid level druid.

My wife just rolled her eyes, but am I really that far off?

Explain please. I always pictured Jasmine as being more of a low level rogue, maybe with some possibility of bard.

That doesn't explain the tiger, though.

What about her animal companion Rajah the Tiger? (She probably multiclassed.)

Scarab Sages

Leadership feat.
Tiger is a cohort.

You might well have me there.

I think Ariel is a bard.

Scarab Sages

With the Amphibious template.

Ok, technically Belle's not a 'princess' but I don't remember her cavorting with animals.

Liberty's Edge

Mulan is a fighter (although she is not a princess).

Dark Archive Bella Sara Charter Superscriber

I think Belle is an artificer. Or at least her father is.

Liberty's Edge

Princess Elonwee (from Black Cauldron) is a sorceress.

Disney disavowed that movie for several years, though.

I thought Lloyd Alexander disavowed that movie ;-)

This thread amuses me greatly. ^_^

She spends a lot of time talking to fish though.

That's a racial ability. She's just using bard mojo to make them friendlier towards her.

I would, if I were him. LOL

I suppose it's debatable whether or not the beast would count as an animal companion (an advanced or awakened yeti maybe). But there's got to be something in the druid code about polymorphing your animal companion into a human so you can marry him.

(Actually that version is probably nicer than the one where belle is suffering from ergotism from eating bread made with rotten rye. But it does explain all the animated objects in the castle rather nicely.)

Dark Archive

Aurora wasn't a druid, she just spent most of her life living with some creepy fey. She had a great enemy though.

Everyone is forgetting the first Disney Princess ever: Snow White! She may end up being a Bard, too, what with the whole "drawing all nature with song" bit. I wouldn't suggest calling the dwarfs "cohorts," though. They might take offense.

My personal favorite of the princesses would go back and forth between Belle and Jasmine, regardless of what classes they were.

Hey, that's like Aquaman and we all know how cool he is.

Tolkien was pretty smart to ban Disney from the movie rights to his work.

Can you imagine what a Walt Disney's Lord of the Rings would have looked like??

I would think that all Disney Princesses have at least a couple of ranks in Perform (sing) or Perform (dance).

Most of them seem to have at least one level in Bard.

Stats for Disney characters, particularly the Princesses, were discussed HERE not too long ago.

Thought you might be interested.

I wonder what the new disney princess will be like, Rapunzel if I'm not mistaken. From the blurb, she can fasten stuff out of her hair... I'm not joking.

I prefer the kick-ass versions of the princesses from the 3rd Shrek movie. The scene where Snow White calls the animals to attack while the song by Heart is playing is great!

Actually, this version of Barracuda is a cover by Fergie, unless I'm mistaken.

Also, IIRC, the battle opened with the shriek from Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song.

I would love to see a real movie made of this though....this was one of my first fantasy books that I read and I loved it. Before seeing the disney-bastardization of it. F U Disney.

Does Elizabeth Swann-Turner count as a Disney Princess? Aristocrat who takes levels in rogue?

A warning about Safeness or lack there for for work would be nice.

(BTW NSFW!)

i think a disney version of the hobbit and lord of the rings would have been much better than those awful late 1970s cartoons

The Wicked Witch and Tinkerbell look nice, Ariel's ok. The others... meh. Never keen on the others, not human enough.

Heh, I'm running an adventure right now that's loosely based on The Princess & The Frog. Don't tell anyone.

While The Lord of the Rings animated feature did suck, The Hobbit was damn good.

Yeah, the animated version of The Hobbit was pretty good and the animated Return of the King was good, as it was done in the same way. The animated Lord of the Rings with that stupid rotoscoping for the Nazgul and other parts really sucked.
