I have a question for you all. Am I an RPG addict? I think I'm beginning to show the signs. I am currently involved in five campaigns, and considering my sixth.
It's not as bad as it sounds, I don't think. Three of the five I am playing, and the other two I'm the DM (yes I said DM, not GM, get over it!). The three that I'm in as a player are PbP, which doesn't suck up that much time, actually.
The two that I DM are a little intense. We often meet weekly for each campaign(recent addition of kids have squashed my once prolific weekend nightlife). I'm a little too OCD to be a DM I think; one campaign began as Age of Worms and the other as Legacy of Fire, but both quickly morphed into a highly customized campaign. I just can't stand railroading players if they want to go in another direction. But I digress.
So I was about get the wheels turning on DM-ing a new PbP here on the boards when I thought to stop here and seek some advice first. Am I crazy/do I need help? It's for a good cause! I'd like to DM an adventure for my friends who are either out of town/unable to meet for tabletop on the weekends/want to introduce to Pathfinder and the PbP experience.
Any advice?
;)

Take all your books (not just the RPG ones), box them up, and send them too me. That will fix your addiction.
But... But... You need help! I can help you! I promise I can! Let me help you with your problem!

Do not listen to Sharoth.
But seriously, it does sound like you may be going overboard. How does your wife and children cope with it? You do spend enough time with them, right?
If you're questioning yourself right now, the answer is probably "yes."
If you need some help, feel free to drop me a line. I'll give you my address to where you can send your RPG collection.
Seriously, it's no trouble at all. I'm always available to help a fellow Paizonian!

In all seriousness, if you really think you're addicted. Take this litmus test. Box all of your rpg books up and take them to half price books. Can you do it? Is there a psychological difficulty? If there is, you're probably addicted.
I broke my addiction back in March. It felt very good. Although, its not really that difficult a situation since I can purchase electronic versions of most of the stuff I sold. But still, I was surprised at how difficult it was for me to do that, and how relieved and easy life felt afterwards. A huge weight off my shoulders.

...and I'm the guy that combs HPB every several weeks to see what people have turned in so that I can increase my hoard. :P

Sign you are an addict: Have you gotten ill recently I thought to yourself "Well, I just failed my Fort save?"
Ehh. The breasts are off center, which is where your eye would naturally rest first in absence of anything particularly eye grabbing.
Which in this case is the large text, which I read before even looking at the image.

Hurm. I saw the breasts first, but my wife leaned over my shoulder and immediately gushed, "ooooh. I like the terrain!"
But, more seriously, the question shouldn't revolve around how many games you play, but how playing that many games affects those around you. Additionally, I'd say that the choice of the term "addiction" is problematic, and choosing to use that term as a starting point suggests that you think it may be a problem (unless you're just using this as a forum to brag about how many games you can manage in a week, in which case, I say "Bravo! Such time management skills!").
I run two games for between 20 and 25 hours a week, but one of the games is just my wife and I, and we have no children, so it's "couple time" for us. We're both involved in both games, and neither of us feels neglected. Incidentally, the more time we spend hunched over the coffee table, rolling dice and fighting monsters, the less time we spend fighting each other.

Yes, I agree. My wife plays in both games I DM in person so we still get quality time together. And I'm at a computer all day at work anyhow, so the PbP games don't really cost me any free time.
I just find it funny as hell that I am in all of these games and I was seriously considering starting another one. I think I saw the line, and I stepped back from it!

For my part, playing in a pseudo weekly game and running a pbp game on these boards (which you might be familiar with ...) is about the most I want. As much as I like Pathfinder/D&D/other RPGs, I have other obligations and interests and I don't want to get burnt out. I think lots of pbp fail because they are so slow that some people start a ton of them. They soon found out it's too much work or get burn out. But anyway, I digress. I'm sure you're the best judge for whatever or not you got too much on your plate.
