Imrarel
Imrarel backs away from the pit's edge. Thank you Tao. That was most helpful.
He reaches into the bag at his hip petting Koto as he ponders what he has learned. He takes a breath and looks to the rest of the party.
The entire room appears as if it is filled with magic, as if it were a mist or air. It is slight, but it is from a singular source, a very powerful source. Let us proceed with caution.
Imrarel
Vance turns to Imrarel, "So which direction do you feel is our best bet elf?"
Imrarel will look to Vance and with a slight smile on his face, Watch who you call elf, elf.
As to your question, I can't determine anything about the source other than it is very strong and has permeated everything in this room. So either exit or neither. I can offer no insight into this decision.
Imrarel will then look to the north and shrug his shoulders and then point to the northeast exit. It seems we are closer to this exit, so why don't we go this way?

As you walk into this narrow passage you quickly realize that it becomes choked with stalactites and other rock formations. The ceiling seems like it stretches over 20 feet above the floor. The floor is covered with small holes, stalagmites, and puddles.
The further down the tunnel you get the more you feel like you are being followed or watched. Suddenly, you feel that maybe now the hunter has become the prey. As the room quickly turns from torch lit to no light at all.
I need initiative from everyone.
Kroesh
'I cannot dispel this darkness. Don't wander off. Sound off when I call your name. We should gather up and try to get to a wall to keep our backs against while we try to get out of this. ...Imrarel.....Vance.....Tao.....Cathran... Kroesh says while getting his rope out of his backpack.
As soon as someone answers him he will move in the direction of their voice and try to hand them a part of the rope so we can all stay together.
Imrarel
Imrarel puts his staff in the crook of his arm as he pulls something from his spell pouch. He can be heard saying something in a small voice, Permissum illic exsisto lux lucis. When he finishes he touches the top of his staff with his opposite hand.
If the spell doesn't dispel the darkness he will move to as Kroesh has said and put his back to the wall calling to Kroesh as he does so. Then letting his comrades know that he cannot dispel the darkness or call light.
Origin GM
Everyone hears the words Permissum illic exsisto lux lucis uttered and suddenly the room becomes lit. Quickly approaching you is a monster that only the natural habitants of a cave would have seen or an adventurous person.
From out of the spell that was just cast comes the horrid creature that immediately slams into Cathran and latches on, breaking a few bones but leaving her breathing.

Imrarel will move to square BB59 and fire an Acid Dart at the creature.
To Hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 6
Vance Armstrong
I readied an action last round and should have attacked once I could see the creature next to me. So for the rest of the encounter I should be after Imarel. Both attacks are listed.
Kroesh
I guess technically since Imrarel's turn happened before mine I would be able to see and would not be fumbling for my rope.
Greatsword to hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage:2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
Origin GM
At the start of the new round Vance had hit the creature as soon as it became visible. Though only wounding it Imrarel shoots an acid dart into the creature making it let go of Cathran. Tao had found this as an opening and tried to hit it as many times as he could but had missed every time. Suddenly Kroesh came in with a mighty swing and cleaved the monster in two. Leaving Cathran still alive but injured.
There is one exit other than the way you came.
Imrarel
Imrarel will look at Catherine, visually guaging her injuries, How fares the horse mistress?
I'm am ready go, but can wait if her injuries need tending so they do not fester. Also, the light will only last a short time. So we will need to prepare some light as well for when it goes out.
Imrarel
Imrarel will move to stand near Catherine and Kroesh, holding his staff in such a way as to grant Kroesh the best light to assess Catherine's injuries.
I say we press on. Not everything we encounter will be able to cloak itself in darkness and put us at such a disadvantage.
Imrarel
"Does anyone have anymore light sources, I only have 2 sunrods." Tao says tapping his sunrod.
I do have a lamp and oil as well, but that is better suited for a camp at night than exploring monster infested caves. It is not designed to be put out quickly or limit the direction being illuminated.
Origin GM
Into the next room you gather that this wide, low cavern has barely enough space for the average size man to crawl through. As the passage leading to this area runs northward, it becomes increasingly cramped and low. By the time you get to the end, the room barely reaches 2 feet above the floor. Tucked into the a small hole in the floor is a treasure chest. Only the top half is sticking out of the hole in the floor. The roof is just tall enough to open the chest.
Vance Armstrong
"You guys stay back here where there's a little more room." Vance says as he ties his rope around his waist. "You guys keep a lookout for me as I crawl to the back. Things get too bad and you here me hollar or tug on the rope then pull me back in as fast as you can. Does that work for you guys?"
Kroesh
I have no way to detect traps other than up here. Kroesh says as he taps the side of his head. I agree with Vance, that chest looks like bait to me. Give me the other end of that rope and you cinch it up tight. Everyone else keep an eye out behind us. Could be somethings just waiting for us all to start staring at the chest so it can stick something unpleasant in our backs.
