Oregon, Hillsboro (Portland metro) Pathfinder, or pretty much anything

Gamer Connection

Hi! I moved to the Portland area some months back, and I am finding myself in a progressively worse and worse state due to RPG withdrawal. Please give me a hit, just a taste to hold me over!!!

In all seriousness, I am a very rabid roleplayer who would like to meet and game with those who are mature and roleplay as well as crunch dice and numbers with equal fervor. I love getting into character, and when I am particularly into it, I have been known to write pretty decent short fiction.

I will check this thread for a while, so if you aren't responding same day, promise I will still see it. :D

Still checking for a local game! I can play anything you got. Interested in Exalted, PFRPG, WFRP 2nd E, Heroes system, Hunter: the Vigil, or any other random game you want to try. Hell, let's say you are interested in trying a totally new game that you're not sure your current group would enjoy. You have one gamer right here!

How's it going? Missed your first post or would have responded sooner. Hillsboro's a bit of a slog for me (I'm just north of the river) but I wanted to point out that the local D&D Meetup group (http://www.pdxdnd.org/) is active and has a lot of prospective gamers (more than just D&D as well). I've met quite a few players via the site and I know others that have as well. Check them out. I think they have a semi-regular get together at Guardian Games. Good luck!

Woot! I'm in the Hillsboro area myself (also just moved to the area). Rainy Day Games is the closest game store that I've found, they're on TV Highway in Aloha, but Guardian Games over in Portland proper has a ginormous play space.

I'll keep an eye on this thread too, I'm jonesin' for a game myself. ^_^ Kingmaker has me greatly interested, but I have every Pathfinder thing that Paizo has put out, so plenty of options. I'm also keen on sandbox-style play as well. :)

Welcome to town, both of you :) Do check out the meetup if you get a chance.

Done did. Might stop by Guardian Games and try and catch up with Angel sometime tomorrow. :)

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Actually I have been looking for a pathfinder game just starting out in the PDX area. Have a friend who also would probably be interested in joining.

I will check back in this thread from time to time.

Wow! I get busy for a little while, and my empty thread explodes! Well, mini-explosion anyways.

mearrin69: Thanks for the info. I will check it out.

Lilith: We're close! I have visited Rainy Days myself. Picked up the Gods and Magic PF supplement there. Definitely need to hook each other up if we hear about anything.

Aravan: You are in Portland proper? Bit of a drive, but I am willing to commute for a good game if you stumble across anything.

Until next time!

Help! I cannot seem to login to the Portland DnD Meetup page! I created a Meetup user ID and such and can visit any other Meetup page and stay logged in, but the minute I select the Portland DnD Meetup, I am suddenly not logged in and can't get myself logged in as long as I stay on their site. This also prevents me from emailing anyone about it, since it keeps telling me to log in to send the email!

Anything you know of to help mearrin69??

Hey, that's weird. I've never had any problems with it. Haven't been there in a while but I just logged in okay and was able to move around in the site without it logging me out. My first suggestion is to try logging in to just the main meetup.com system and then trying to contact support about the problem. Second, you could try clearing your cookies to see if that help (IE Tools->Internet Options and Delete on the Browsing History section of the panel that opens). Hope that helps!

Thanks, mearrin69. I will give those a try.

EDIT: So far nothing has changed, but Meetup's help site mentioned it's possible to set requirements for joining or even adding an entry poll. By any chance do they have requirements or other things I would need to do before clicking the "Join Us" link?

Didn't used to have any sort of pre-requisites. I signed up years ago, though, so something might have changed. I'll see if I can dig up the group manager's e-mail and pass it to you.

So, his e-mail's not public but I sent him (Jim) a message on your behalf and pointed him to this thread. Hopefully he can help get you going.

There are no current restrictions for signing up with the Portland D&D meetup group and we have been getting one or two new members per day of late. I am afraid I have no idea why your getting logged out of the meetup system when you visit our group. Have you tried asking meetup's support? You might try visiting the group by going direct to our site at www.pdxdnd.org instead of searching for us via meetup. I know that shouldn't make a difference but...

Also check out Rivals Games in Hillsboro, another great store in your area.

I know it's early but I plan on moving to the Portland area by the end of next summer. While I practically have a group set up when I get there I might have a hard time selling them on the PRPG (they're 4e players so I'll likely run other games with them like Shadowrun or something) I'll definitely be wanting to look into running a PRPG campaign and some Society events once I get down there (and get employment squared away of course...). Until then, I'll have to satisfy myself with my vacation in August.
