Sorcerers with the arcane bloodline get either a familiar or a bonded object, just like a wizard.
The curious question is how does a bonded object work for a sorcerer?
Can they maintain a spellbook and cast anything out of it 1/day? Or does it just give them an extra slot/day on spells known?

By RAW it just gives them an extra slot/day, but I've houseruled that a Sorcerer can maintain a spellbook and 1/day cast any spell out of it, however their normal spells must be from their spells known and they have to pay the cost of adding spells to the spellbook (even spells they know) and it works just fine.
If Wizards get to act like sorcerers once/day sorcerers should be able to act like wizards 1/day.

Which would be the least intrusive to the existing game mechanics?
1. A spellcaster who has a primary class ability spontaneously casts spells, who does not need to create a written library, who may not even be very intelligent, who may not even be literate at all, is forced to carry around a library of spells just so he can use a special class ability is mechanically similar to his primary spellcasting ability with the exception of the requirement of a library.
or
2. This same spellcaster gets one extra spell per day, chosen from any spell he has ever learned, just like a wizard would.
Me, I go for #2.
