Very interesting, I may have to use this. As usual a couple questions.
For divine power, what does the godling use as his casting stat? Also, does a godling require foci for their spells? Either arcane or divine?
"Scholar III (Ex): Any time the godling
makes any Knowledge check, he does so
using a bonus equal to his highest total
Knowledge skill bonus."
Does this mean his knowledge check is essentially double the normal bonus? Or does he add all his knowledge skills up and use that as his bonus for each?
For physical/mental avatar talents, does this count for the standard listed stat associated with the skill or what you use. For instance if you have an ability that lets you add strength instead of charisma to intimidate, would that fall under physical or mental avatar?
In the new feat, powerful lineage,
"Benefits: When calculating your effective
cleric level for your lineage domains, you
may use your whole class level, rather than
just your godling levels, to a maximum of
double your godling levels."
Do you mean your whole character level? Because dont class level and godling level mean the same thing?
Also, thanks for the 'additional spellcaster options' sidebar. I appreciate that you took that feedback into consideration.

Just thought I would say I am really enjoying this class and having just watched Clash of the Titans, oh the possibilities...
Also I would like to say that I have really been enjoying the stuff you folks have put out so far. Along with Paizo and Kobold Quarterly the stuff from Super Genius has become must haves. Any chance will see more Presteige Classes from Super Genius, I would love to see what you folks could! Also any plans to do some aquatic stuff that might be released around the same time as Kobold Quarterly's Sunken Empires, cause that would just be gravy.

agreed, supergenius is very close to a blanket allowed in at my table, which i didnt even do for the 3.5 core rules without alterations. Keep up the good work.

I'll let Owen chime in on the Scholar ability but the feat should be character level.

Sorry! I'm writing to deadline this week, and haven't been as around as usual. :D
Very interesting, I may have to use this. As usual a couple questions.
For divine power, what does the godling use as his casting stat? Also, does a godling require foci for their spells? Either arcane or divine?
Great questions. Especially the first one. Clever godlings and godling PrC should use Wisdom. Mighty godlings should use Con. And the class ought to say that.
"Scholar III (Ex): Any time the godling
makes any Knowledge check, he does so
using a bonus equal to his highest total
Knowledge skill bonus."Does this mean his knowledge check is essentially double the normal bonus? Or does he add all his knowledge skills up and use that as his bonus for each?
None of the above. It means that whatever Knowldfe skill the godling has at the highest total bonus, he uses that as his bonus for all Knowledge checks. In other words, a Scholar III godling only needs to buy up one Knowledge check, since the rest of his Knowledge skills all use the same bonus. But he still buys ranks and such in that one Knowledge skill normally.
For physical/mental avatar talents, does this count for the standard listed stat associated with the skill or what you use. For instance if you have an ability that lets you add strength instead of charisma to intimidate, would that fall under physical or mental avatar?
I'd say it falls under whatever ability the skill lists normally, so a Strength Intimidator still needs Mental Avatar to get a bonus. If you find a strong reason to run it differently, just hosuerule it for those specific cases.
In the new feat, powerful lineage,
"Benefits: When calculating your effective
cleric level for your lineage domains, you
may use your whole class level, rather than
just your godling levels, to a maximum of
double your godling levels."Do you mean your whole character level? Because dont class level and godling level mean the same thing?
If that was a godling ability, class level and godling level would be the same. But its a feat, so we meant your levels from classes, and not (for example) from racial hit dice. But character level is a much clearer way to say that, so we'll change it.
Also, thanks for the 'additional spellcaster options' sidebar. I appreciate that you took that feedback into consideration.
You are very welcome. We'd be pretty poor gamers if we didn't care what other gamers thought! And we'd be idiots not to listen to our fans, especially the ones who post in a thread that's almost sidetracked talking about how great our products are!

The only lack of awesome is the lack of pages 12 through 32....
Okay, fair enough!
Open question to everyone: If we has twenty more pages, what would you want to see in them? What godling-related, or godling-like, material do you still crave?
We're always on the lookout for things Pathfinder fans want to buy. If you want more of this, let us know!
Seriously, excellent product, excellent value.
Thanks

Well it´s not directly for the godling itself but some character options for those who are third or fourth generation descendants of gods. They are not godlings themselves but having god blood running through their veins must have some kind of effect.
A god sorcerer bloodline for example, some kind of divine heritage domain, some feats etc.

So something along the lines of the ice magic/earth magic products but for godly descendants?

I could easily see a Genius Guide to the Children of the Gods, which has new class options (a "my chosen" cleric domain, the godling bloodline for sorcerers, a personal power specialization for wizards descended from gods of magic, and similar things for other classes), a few godling-related spells, and godling-prerequisite feats (with maybe scion as a core feat that lets you take the others if you aren't already a godling).
That sound like what you're looking for?
| Alzrius |
For what it's worth, there's already a Divine sorcerer bloodline in 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming's Book of Arcane Magic.

Seriously, they are really good at that. I once joked about them tapping my internet or something, but now its getting a little silly. I need to con my group mates into running multiple pathfinder games so i can try out all the super genius classes.
And yea, you can count me in for this product Owen. I think despite the concern about 'forcing' people to buy additional products, additional support for some of your more popular classes would be a good idea. I certainly like more options for characters and my genius binder can always be upgraded to a larger size ;).

Demigods usually have flaws. I know that flaw systems have real pitfalls in RPGs. But the oracle curse mechanism could be a good template.
Examples: Odysseus bad luck. (not really a demigod, but he fits the archetype I believe). Hercules loss of self control and guilt-debt. Achilles heel. Thor’s flat out foolishness and stubborn pride. Theseus failed to change the sails and his father committed suicide.
In the stories the gods frequently play a direct role in the lives of demigods. They almost never don’t. Maybe this just needs to be a brief DM’s guide for plot ideas section. But it could also be mechanical in the form of boons (and/or banes) that come with the class. It could also be a subsystem outside the class. The disadvantage of that is having system about one character is disruptive, but the advantage may be that you could use this system for other classes. A Destined Sorcerer could easily be a demigod, and a tack on system for gods meddling would be cool. And that is no less true for a plain old sword and board fighter whose life the gods decide to play chess with.
Along that same line, they almost always have special gear uniquely associated with them. Theseus sword (much like excaliber) had to be retrieved from beneath the stone. Thor’s hammer. Perseus sandals, helm, sword, shield. Odysseus bow. Ostog’s green cloak.
Clearly, low-level demigods is a tricky thing. Hercules killed the vipers in his crib. He was a 3rd or 4th level infant.

All good points . . . except Thor wasn't a demigod. ;)
Although I understand that "comic book Thor" came up, but he's had "mortal reduction syndrome" a few times over the years, which is kind of close to being a demigod.

I enjoyed Godling a ton, I plan on running an all Godling Game for my Friday Night Gaming Session. First character has been made... The Son of the Lame God, Deracles Hephestson. Level 1 Mighty Godling Domain: Artiface. We playtested it last night and it did very well, he did not over run the game and fit in well with the other characters we had in the group.
Looking foward to getting this weeks game off the ground... All I have to do now is come up with a cool gaming hook for a group of Godlings working together.

I'd love to see what you guys would build as sample Iconics, a little bit on favored weapons. A tiny section on fitting Godling into your campaign world.
Other than that I feel it was pretty damn good. I got more than my money's worth that is for certain. I plan on looking into more things from Genius keep it up.

My current Godling player loves his new character, he had been several years of not playing ie he played 2nd Ed. D&D this got him back in to playing. He even wrote the narration for his Deracles charater ala Hercules and Xena...
"It was a time of myth and legend, a time when the GODS were petty and cruel and plauged mankind with suffering... The world cried out for a HERO... but they got Deracles."
