Unless I missed something, someone with a +16 BaB taking Greater Vital Strike could fire a scattergun for 12d6 points of damage. Scatterguns also only take a move action to reload, so you could keep blasting away with the scattergun.
Since it holds two shots, you could actually fire and move one round and fire and reload the second.
I'm not saying this is a good or a bad thing, just starting to think about how firearms would interact with deadly aim and vital strike.

I think you did not miss anything. I would multiply the damage after figuring the range, however, so this damage would "only" apply within 30 ft. Within 30 ft, sneak attack bonus damage applies as well, and at BAB +16, we talk about level 16+, so a rogue would have +8d6 on sneak attacks. Iterative fighter attacks at that level are also to be taken into account. I see where you are coming from, but for applying three feats and waiting to level 16, I don´t think it is too good. Vital strike can be quite powerful if you have many damage dice to begin with, but in the end, I think it is balanced.
You would not want to encounter a storm giant fighter level 2 with these feats, however - Atk +29, D 16d6+21 each round is nasty.

Where is the description for firearms in the Pathfinder campaign setting? I have looked for a couple of days only to find the Gunslinger feat. A little help please.
Page 58, 59, and 212 are the main rules. The ammo info is in the equipment section as well but it just basically states ammo costs 1GP per 10 shots.
