Inquisitors and Disruptive

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

i don't know if it is just me but does it seem a little weird that the Inquisitor who I'm my opinion is the closest thing to a witch hunter doesn't gain access to either of the two only mage slayer feats, i don't want to take away anything from the fighter but i just feel that it makes as much sense if not more for the Inquisitor to gain access to those feats.

Which Pathfinder book has the stats for Inquisitor? I would like to know.

The Advanced Player's Guide. It is currently in production but the free playtest PDF (which includes the Inquisitor) is here

Fighter-only feats are one of the primary reasons to play a Fighter. Hands off their toys! :-) Inquisitors are pretty much melee boosted Clerics to begin with - they don't need more tools to beat on spellcasters. Especially given that Inq's are built to beat on a variety of targets - Judgements are very versatile, as they pick which one to use as they use them. Just because you can hunt witches doesn't make you a witch hunter, after all. Inq's are monster hunters first and foremost (Monster Lore, Bane abilities).

i do agree with this but for me the inspiration behind the Inquisitor is a witch hunter like Solomon Kane, i do think there should be more than a handful of fighter only feats but it feels like both of the mage slayer feats comae out of nowhere compared to the other fighter only feats.

Please note that an Inquisitor is Inquisitive... not necessarily a beat stick. Nothing in the class's write up suggests "witch hunter" and that would be a very awkward thing to put into the APG since you know the "witch" is there...

What good would it be to put a witch class out if no one played it due to a "witch hunter" class in the same book that automatically kills them?

That sort of rock paper scissors game isn't supposed to be a part of the pathfinder system -- yes everyone has things they are better at but it isn't supposed to be a case of "fighter beats rogue beats wizard beats fighter".

Witch hunter is a title more than it is a class too -- after all any cleric, fighter, rogue, or wizard could be a witch hunter... all it takes is a declaration of intent to hunt witches.

In short I think you are over simplifying this class.
